thinking about this from the interviewers perspective. I feel very sorry for the unfortunate events. I'm sure that he would have asked some better questions had the time been permitable.

It is hard to ignore some things like how the devs had to introduce themselves.

It could have been much better. But it can be hard to do everything you intend to do or how you want to do it when something as big as the stream failing is going on. I imagine more time was spent trying to pick up where was left off between stream going down as well as attempting to solve the problem. His eyes being on chat were probably limited due to this as well.

The interviewer did a decent job of maintaining a form of composure with the issues going on.

Agreed. Let the hardcore new stuff come out at E3. For now just get the general basic word out. Haven't watched the broadcast, waiting for youtube.

True. I'm not ripping on the interviewer for asking questions with answers we all know. (Although asking "Vehicles?" made me groan, I couldn't help it). I did chime in with the peanut gallery a little bit only because it was frustrating watching it and having ads pop up out of nowhere every minute or 2. You do that to any audience and there will be rumblings. Other than the technical glitches, I thought it was cool.

People DO not know about PS2 yet. Spread the word guys.

Diablo 3 is Amazon's most pre-ordered PC game ever. Even a Diablo 3 ranking in consumer awareness would be a massive success.

In regards to the communities reaction to this interview, some of you should be ashamed. Especially if you were part of the negativity in the stream chat, and even moreso if you like to think that you work so hard to promote a game you love.

But really...this was a webcast interview. Who cares?

I just finished watching the recording on FPSGuru via Twitch and I thought it was a great example of how awesome TRay and Higby are and how lucky we are to have such an involved team of developers literally on OUR side. This was great to spread the word that is Planetside 2.

The MMO gaming revolution must be televised! I will probably choke on my own tongue if I see a Planetside 2 TV ad, oh the possibilities!

A TV ad during primetime in the weeks just before release would be awesome...but SOE would have to pay out the ass for it. I don't see a TV spot happening.

I spent roughly 3 years covering every MMO both good and bad and it's a lot harder than it looks. The technical issues were very unfortunate but going under the assumption the interviewer had no PS1 experience, it's extremely difficult to learn that much about the game in a short period of time. He was asking questions that a non-PlanetSide fan is going to ask. A lot of you folks are already on board, but wouldn't you like a hundred thousand more?

Ultimately folks, this was a general interest interview to raise the level of awareness about the product. We did not hype this up as a revealing stream because that was the expectation I wanted to set.

To be clear, I was not one of the people posting negative comments on the stream.

Of course the more coverage of PS2 the better. I was just trying to give some perspective of what I've seen in the game journalism world.

I also wasn't criticizing any of the PS2 team. Heck they did a great job with what was asked.

I'm just saying, even in a general interest interview, even if the interviewer is going to ask obvious questions to cater to people who don't know anything about a game, it could be done in a way that sounds like the interviewer at least did their homework.

I'm going to be quite honest here. I didn't particularly enjoy the interview, not because of its content rather than because of its obvious technical issues. While I understand it can be like that sometimes, I didn't stick around for long.

From what I saw though, Higby and TRay are always sporting that wonderful mixture of charm, fun and professionalism. I'm a fanboy and I'm not afraid to admit that. I've been following games in development for more than a decade now(like most of you) and it usually takes something "special" to get "us" coming back for more. At least, this is my take on it.

So again, for me the interview was lackluster thanks to the technical issues rather than the content itself. I'd watch Higby and TRay talk about trashcans.

don´t know how they will do it in the rest of the world, but in europe EVERY ad-block will be spammed with a planetside 2 spot for sure!

pro7sat1 is spamming spots for their free to play games all the time, and those are low level cheapass games by now. so it is set in stone that they will promote their new flagship game ps2 with a massive tv campaign. after all it will be their first AAA title.

I'm a luddite and don't have satellite tv so I've never seen a pro7 ad in the UK.

If their reach is to Germanophones only then I'll need to dust off my old English/German dictionary nichtwar?
