That would have been pretty spectacular if a dozen Scythes had flown in towards the end of the video to ruin the NC and TR fight (like we always do ).

Question: What is the maximum altitude you can reach? As with TB movie of the lib and this movie it seems the height isn't that impressive high. Which wouldn't be very fun for dogfights and such.

Particularly, what is flight ceiling compared to the reach of AA? Is there a safe zone for aircraft from ground fired AA?

Actually those vehicles weren't manned. The Quads weren't so I think it's safe to assume the lightnings weren't either... otherwise I doubt the aircraft would survive quite so long :P
