As for Gortha, lets see some proof bro

One source is hardly proof.
Lets see some proof that it isn't a war for oil.

On this site we have seen an number of article by accredited journalist, economist and political analysts. More than that, the oil motive fits the scenario perfectly.

I will not accept material that says war is not for oil that comes from our administration. The reason why I would not accept such evidence is because the US government has nothing to gain by saying that the war is for oil.

In fact, if the US government declared it was for oil, political opponents of the US would use this as amunition against the political position of the US.

If the shoe fits, werar it.

BTW, governments often limit who their people can trade with.

Hey Lex, do you still have that article about Cheney's oil dealings with Iraq? I had the page bookmarked, but deleted it after reading it . They want proof? Give them some good old U.S. of A proof, since that's all they seem to believe in.

ok, wtf. I'm reading this article now.

"Salih is expected to be one of the leading political figures in Iraq, along with the PUK's leader Jalal Talabani, after the fall of Iraq's current leader Saddam Hussein. The Kurdish enclave in northern Iraq, protected for a decade by British and U.S. warplanes enforcing a no-fly zone, has become an island of prosperity and nascent democratic ways. "

That shows that the man saying they won't honour France or Russia's oil contracts when Saddam has been ousted, is also the man most likely to become IN power once Sadam has been removed. So by saying he won't honour them, that means the U.S. could easily obtain said oil contracts, right? This guy gets leadership if the U.S. goes to war and removes Saddam from power, right?

In other words, "Hey U.S., you come take out this "EVIL" dictator, put me in power, and I'll give you these lucrative $20 BILLION dollar oil contracts." Nah, it's not about oil though.

Hamma and Confectrix, here is a very good read on Iraqi oil, and it's economic implications accross the world.

P.S. Silent, I am not sure which article you are talking about but I am digging through my bookmarks to find it.

Here is another article entitled, "It's Not "All About Oil," But... Victory in Iraq would reshuffle the global players with big stakes in the country's oil fields. "

Found it myself on google after a quick search. I recognized it because it has "Cacophony" in the first sentence . Found the article on a couple of pages actually:
