This is going to be a look like a really stupid question to most people but I've had a look around and haven't found a definitive answer.
How much does ping affect PS1 players? I'm from the UK and have between 140-170 ping most of the time. I've been playing the last couple of days after the free 30 day thing (last time I played was way back in 2005-2006 on the EU servers). Anyway, back to the issue, I'm having problems as in - I run up behind said NC/VS shooting away with my HMG every hit seems to register on the orange bubble hit thingy - and most the time they just turn around and kill me. This is getting to the point now that my KD is around 0.2-3 which is frankly terrible. As you can imagine the issue is slightly infuriating. If anyone could shed some light upon how much a 'high' ping affects PS1 that would be great. If its a skill issue I shall commit suicide now and you'll never see me again! Thanks guys <3 |

I play with around 110 ping, and its not too bad. I think people will warp more for you, but you'll also warp more for other people. With the HA weapons, its all about staying within the optimal range for that weapon, so don't treat a MCG like a shotgun or an assault rifle.

Based on my experience yesterday, lag and all-around weirdness can happen for nearly any player, regardless of ping. Obviously, higher will be worse, but infantry combat tends to be so chaotic that it's not a terrible disadvantage, while vehicle and support combat is slow enough that you can probably handle anything.
