From what I've seen of the videos, mobility is vastly superior to being able to prone anyway. Especially for snipers; lets not forget that infiltrators have more duties than just sniping. |

Proning would make the commonly noted zerging impossible, since a character laying in prone that can shoot will most like fill the charging people with bullets before they have time to react. Without prone, firing from the hip will become an actually viable strategy, thus making advancing at the front line faster. Proning would slow down the game play, and the front line moves forwards or backwards slower. That's pretty much the only reason I'd want to see it in the game.
And to OP, games such as BF aren't the only ones with prone. I loved Red Orchestra, just because the front line was clear, and advancing actually turned tides a ton. Not to mention stale mate situations were common. (I love stale mates myself, it brings more immersion to the war). |

No its not. Nothing I hate more than automatic "cover" systems. You just move behind the wall and its natural, its cover, it works way better. |

Fortunately SOE has put a lot of emphasis on building every area with gameplay in mind (at least from the interviews). So as long as every object that is designed to give you cover actually works the way it should, I'm fine with no prone. Either way, something like this is by no means a deal breaker. This game is going to be fun with or without prone. |

Yes I love to look for prone snipers in BF, just by following the sound of the shots.... Very entertaining and it's a nasty surprise when you sneak up on them and cut their throats. Guarenteed to give a sniper player a rush.

I don't see any harm in correctly implemented prone...
Aside from limitations based on the sheer size of the game, which tends to be a common issue. Personally though I think if it's implemented in a way that forces you to lay down your weapon to actually get on the ground, it would be fine. And, of course, the same for trying to get up. A crawling rise and stumble combined with no use of your weapon. |

The only thing that will be easier with prone is finding cover. But anything that can shoot at you you can shoot back at. Prone with not make it harder to spot players. At least that is my experience from COD, BF or any other FPS game where you can prone.
