Whats the best way to stop a MAX crash

When a proper MAX crash is coming, it tends to be obvious. Especially when the population remains constant, but the defense gains ground faster than it should. Or in some AT cases, when the attack stops entirely for no apparent reason.

Maxes en masse aren't totally helpless agaisnt tanks. 2-3 maxes with one/dueal av weapons can probably blow you away before you can squash em.

I was wondering why most of the stream maxes didn't stand and fire.
