But lets keep putting the blame entirely on the fans or on SOE. Its so much easier that way.

There hasn't been any significant lack of communication.

Higby would cut his hair when beta (Later confirmed to be external testers not with SoE) starts. - That came true. The day of the hair cut was followed by external testers and the technical test phase of the beta train.

Beta will start Monday or Tuesday pending any unforseen circumstances - This may still ring true. Its still early on Monday, and they have 35 hours to still keep things going. But for all we know, a squirrel could get into the server cluster and explode, thus rendering beta to be delayed. Welcome to the world of software development. Things can happen. But until they do, beta may still start by its intended announcement.

The blame is entirely on the fans. It's people misconstruing what SoE is saying to fit their own agenda. Like when they said "A few weeks" during E3...It was 4 before the technical test started. But because it wasn't 3 or less, or because they didn't get invited, SoE lied. It's going to be the same thing with beta kicking in. If Veteran #1 doesn't get in but Veteran #2 does right away, #1 will cry foul because they think they deserve it, while SoE can only invite so many people at once or else NO ONE gets to play. Do people care or understand? No, of course not. They just think they are entitled over everyone else and fuck the restrictions or limitations behind any decisions made. Me me me me me.

Lack of centralized communication. There's been communication, but its been conflicting and from multiple sources. The beta priority problem was especially guilty of this. Had about a huge variety of tweets with conflicting information, and every damn group had their own tweet for their rallying banner of why they'd get in first. Smedley finally cleared it up right at the end, and then wondered why everyone was confused.
