3D is the future, and that´s it. In fact, 3D virtual reality is the future. There are allways conservative people that takes comfort in what was, and try to work against progress.
3D Vision adds a dimension of immersion that 2D
never can come close to. Personally I have been playing in 3D since 2002, on CRT monitor with shutterglasses, IZ3D monitor, a Z800 3D Vison, an Acer 5360 3D Projector, and currently on a HMZ-t1 from Sony. . You don´t need a 120Hz monitor, there is a multitude of display tehnologies.
I never play a game that doens´t support 3D. I have had friends over and most get totally blowed away by what they see. Others just dont see the 3D. It turns out that a bout 5% of the population can´t see 3D images, due to disfunctional vision. That is not enough to scrap the technology.
Please, dont´t speak about what you don´t know. If you haven´t tried gaming in 3D you definitely missed something though.
I have been watching 3D tech evolve for ten years now, and I know just what progress have been made and what is to come. There are allready full HD 3D headmounted displays on the market for a consumer range price, but the field of view is too low on that unit still (
ST1080 from Silicon Micro Display). Also you have Smart goggles ing up later this year:
