1. Sprinting all the time makes kittens cry -
Ever been sprinting through a building right into a hail of bullets? Sprinting indoors adds another .5 seconds to your ability to fire your weapon or aim down sight (ADS) Outside and between cover, sprinting is wise and reccomended. Inside? Take your finger off 'shift' FFS 2. Surrender isn't an option...but retreating is... You are valuable, tactically and strategically. However, letting someone spawn camp you at the warpgate when you have other hex's that can either be expanded or used as a jumping off point in order to counter aforementioned camping of the warpgate, is more useful. 3. K/D 0-7? Go somewhere else! Too many times I've seen people rushing to crown through the same crevices, from the same direction. You want to rack up the kills and help your empire? Choose a different front! I've rarely seen any base under attack from more than 1 front unless it's just completely overrun. Which brings me up to my next point 4. Flanks! They Exist! I can't stress this enough. I understand strength in numbers but a solo soldier/tank in the right position can cause so much damage and confusion just by being in an advantageous position. Be a force multiplier, this is not the beginning scene from, "Enemy at the Gates" 5. Resources are finite I don't see Sony retconning resources anytime soon, and until we see how much they affect combat in full server we can only estimate through common sense the worth of attempting to flood an area with armour. 6. All your weapons have an effective range...it's true! I'm not talking about damage drop off that may effect some weapons and not others. I'm talking about attempting to engage a target that you have no chance of destroying due to inate bullet physics and hard wired accuracy. Waiting for the best range and opportune time will increase probability of a kill as well as minimizing the enemies situational awareness regarding your location and force composition. 7. Don't be a jerk. I probably should've mentioned this list is in no particular order. This goes without saying, no explanation needed. 8. Time is money...and power. Despite critiscism, logistics due exist in PS2. Learning the best way to manage time and distance as well as prioritizing the best way apply your firepower is crucial to victory. 9. Use grenades...for the love of all things holy. I'm probably the biggest sinner when it comes to this. This is probably a result of not always having access to nades so it's just not instinct yet to pepper an occupied position with finite 1HKO explosives. Only time will teach. 10. Remember to fire in the same direction as your friendlies. Not in a squad? Fine, follow that cluster of dudes along the ridge line towards the objective. I know I posted not to follow the zerg into the meat grinder earlier, and that still stands true. I'm saying until opposition is met, grouping together in close proximity gives advantage that significantly outweigh the negatives (minus an active, unchallenged lib) Grouping together, especially as a support class, increases the local troops effectiveness by more than just the percentage of an added trooper. Sticking together employs over-target saturation as well as mutual support in any engagement. I hope this was relative and helpful. |
