Surely this is temporary. I mean, who fires a mini-gun or a massive sub-4 gauge shotgun WITHOUT a butt-stock, from the shoulder?!

I bet they had issues getting the animations right for the underslung stuff...so they remodeled the guns so they can use the existing animations.

Yup, i clicked preview of the T7 Mini-Chaingun acctually ingame. The placeholder sprite looks like the underslung MCG we all know but the 3D Preview is this ugly RCG ... horrible clusterwork.

In PS1 the 3 faction HA is what made players really hate each other, and hate is a good thing. You take the hate away and you take a significant amount of empire loyalty away.

I always hated the left-right straffing mini-gun shooting from the crotch TR guys when I played other factions, and everyone always hated the jackhammer when I used it.

The mini-gun must shoot from the crotch, cause it looks so damn annoying.

I think one reason for them not being underslung is to allow for ADS.

Trouble is I don't think HA should even have ADS available to it. I want the big and powerful guns to be HA, not miniaturized versions of them.

How do you ADS an underslung machine gun anyway?

IMO, if they did make an Underslung MCG like the PS1 version...You shouldn't be able to ADS it. Just hold the trigger and go nuts on a target. Cert it for more damage or less recoil or something....

Many other things to fix (meta-game) then this currently. Animations can wait. I don't think they should leave all of them as is, just, they can wait to work on things like that unless it needs to be fixed for optimization purposes. But if we are talking about the HA weapons animations, I do believe they are working on them and have been for a while. This "RCG" isn't a placeholder or a starting gun that can be modded to be under-slung? Sounds like it is.

The answer is simple: The style we have uses the same animations as the rest of the guns, while the style it should be presents a lot more work to animate it correctly on all the models.
