Currently Light Assault seems woefully underpowered compared to most other classes, it seem to have very very limited use, but perhaps we could change this and take on simlar angle to heavys
Heavy can swap between LMG and Rocket Launcher, this gives them verstility vs infanty and tanks How about we give Light Assasult a longish ranged rifle AND a shotgun (replacing pistol) and have it as the only class that used shotgun... ie shotgun IS its special! This makes this a true 'ASSAULT' trooper, and give him a degree of verstility with moderate ranged rifle and a close quarters shotgun, making him a ideal anti infanty trooper |

If anything, I think they should allow LA to carry 1 extra grenade by default. |

Honestly the heavy assualt shield is vastly overrated. And personally I really dislike the LMG's.
Assualt rifles and Carbines feel more accurate in my opinion. Atleast compared to the NC LMGs. And as mentioned, the grenade launcher attachment is very good (HA's won't be able to use it). Though I'm suspecting they will nerf the grenade launcher eventually :-( Last edited by ZaiRoX; 2012-11-14 at 11:24 AM. |

Don't think that's necessary, I know a lot of people who don't use Light Assault effectively enough. Basically if you're in a position that any other troop can get to you're not at an advantage. Always be on roofs, jumping over walls, flanking. Knowing where certain ledges are at each base is a whole different feature no one but this class can utilize.
Just being somewhere that is out of the normal, places people don't expect is pretty good to have. Then you get really good angles of cover that people can't beat. The ONLY ones with jetpacks.... |

Let me rephrase my question; a light assault, combat medic, and engineer stand still and shoot each other, none of them miss a shot. Who is the first to die? Who is the second to die? Who is the last man standing? That's all I really want to know. I don't care about their tactical advantages at the moment, I can figure that out for my self.

At least if he knows how to use his healing aura correctly and can, you know, AIM! |

I know. I'm just trying to decide which class I really want to play. I like medic for his ability to heal himself, light assault for his mobility, and engineer for his awesome little gadgets. I think though, if light assault has the jetpack and C4, he seems a bit like a special ops kind of guy to me; with appropriate, not extreme or brutish, fighting power, high mobility (which helps with fighting), and plenty of utilities and explosives to help him along the way. From what I hear assault rifles don't have too much of an advantage over carbines by the way.
I don't know, if there's something I'm missing, please tell me. I just want a versatile, combat-centric class. |

...You can be all three man...
There isn't anything stopping you from switching, you're just going to have to be more frugal with your Certification Point spending. Personally, I'd go Engineer/Light Assault, since they both share the same weapons and weapon unlocks. |
