Good PS2 youtube channels?

Hey all,

I'm bored and starved for PS2 just like the rest of you I'm sure - and I'm just wondering if anyone can recommend me some good youtube channels with either high-quality content or simply lots of beta gameplay. In other words either quality or quantity - I'm not very discriminating at the moment

I am aware of the videos section and I have been browsing through there a bit, but it would be nice to see something more substantial in length than the usual 5 minute montages.

Thanks

Well, it is of course hard to tell what you have allready seen and what you want to see.

I would check out ironfists channel for some good tutorials on flying.

docplays has a lot of ps2 stuff.

beagle also made a few PS2 videos, they are a bit older but very entertaining.
This is what made me buy alpha squad to get into the beta.

first part

reavers

funny deathrace

And this is 15 minutes of gameplay, showing a NC attack pushing from tawrich all the way to crossroads.
Recorded by some noob that has no idea how to make videos, but all the tracers still look pretty.

Thanks, that's more than enough to go on for now. Very much appreciated. Already checked out some of your own videos by the way. They were pretty decent. I hope to get into the flying in PS2 myself on launch, especially if they can get that problem of mapping yaw to mouse axis issue fixed soon (apparently Smedley said that this might get done around the time they reworked some of the joystick support).

I gathered that you use a joystick is that right? So they do work already to some extent at least?

RivalXfactor and Levelcap are highly recommendable. Both are highly skilled fps players that make excellent tutorials. The former is hired by SOE and he's making a series of 12 tutorials now. Levelcap's analytics skills are one of the best out there.

They always worked for me. As i understant many people had problems with the axis not being analog, but i never had this problem.
My stick works fine since i started to play the beta.

Been following both for a long time (due to being a Battlefield veteran) and I couldn't agree more. Its news to me that Xfactor was contracted to make tutorial vids though - but that seems like an exellent idea. If they just make sure to prominently link those tutorial videos in like the launcher or something I think that this would go a long way towards making newbies a whole lot less confused when they first start out. There is after all a big lack of proper tutorials for newbies or even documentation so having someone of his caliber at work to do that job seems like an excellent idea.

Ah, maybe that is what the fix is about. Having analogue axises on the joystick might not be essential but I'm sure it will be a nice addition and provide more fine-control for those that use joysticks

No,i mean, the only had "on off" input, so the joystick was not useable for them at all.
I had normal analog axis all the time.

Xfactor knows his biz but levelcap has come with some of the stupidest suggestions ever.
Any 'feedback' I ever see coming from that clown is how he wants PS2 to become more loner friendly like BF3. He even asked for unlimited ammo for vehicles because his two man 'team' ran out of ammo at a chokepoint...

Hamma,

Any chance we can get a sidebar with active video content like on teamliquid.net on PSU ?

It would give better visibility to video content. A better one than the PS2 videos sub-forum, that is.

Yep we will probably do something like that at some point. It can be done with YouTube's API.

As much as I enjoy levelcap's content I kind of have to agree on that part. I have heard some suggestions from him that made me wince. I think he is coming from an "we need to do some compromises for the casuals to make sure the game is sucessful overall" angle - and I tend to agree with that. If PS2 only caters to the hardcore veterans then it will be dead in a month from having no population, and no-one wants that. We need the casuals, soloers and zergers to pad the server with (and make it interesting - so we have a lot of variety).

It's just that some of the suggestions he makes don't seem like they take into account the cons such changes would have to the deep gameplay. If we make the game more fun and accessible for solos and casuals then obviously we should want to do that in ways that don't make the game shallow, or at least choose the changes that do as little damage in that regard as possible.

Suggesting no ammo for example is just unacceptable to me.
