Why every engineer should get tank mines

So fun. These things are like proximity mines for vehicles so they don't even need to be under the vehicle to blow it up. Best things certs can buy for destroying tanks.

Just gonna point out that in most situations you aren't safely perched on a rock a hundred feet up.

That said, most tanks are so busy farming spawn rooms that if you approach them from any other direction they'll never notice you until they're a burning wreck.

Yeah that nerf was retarded.. especially preventing them from being too close together.

I use them to kill maxes too. Get a max to follow you around a corner, throw one down and when they get close shoot it. I'm not alway successful but when I am it's the best feel ever, especially against those one shot kill nc maxes. They think you're an easy kill so they always chase after you.

Mines are part of the CE kit that, IMO, should be starter for every combat engineer. Fuck this turret noise, give me mines, spitties and cerb turrets.

Am I the only who actually thinks mines WILL be nerfed, as in placement and uses, thanks to the abuse of engineers?

Knew mines were being brought to the vehicle instead of the other way around, didn't know they had this much throwing range. :/

So little effort required compared to PS1 minefields which had to be placed ahead of time, with placement restrictions, one by one... When mines are used as sticky grenades or artillery, in small numbers and placed as the target is already there, you have to start wondering if they've been implemented properly...

Clearly they haven't been.

Thats nearly as bad as me throwing C4 at the base of the shields inside a bio dome ( in the room you spawn up too ) ....

...oops ! I guess you just gotta rape the bad game mechanics until they change it, each to their own

It's even worse when you remember that they're also cheaper than C4, more destructive than C4, and much easier to use than C4.

It has to be unintentional. I can't imagine that they would want mines to be better at killing stationary targets (especially Sunderers) than even C4. If tanks and c4 are worse, then they or mines are broken; most likely mines plus the lack of parking brakes means that even a small hill will make the sundy twitch enough to set off even a mine under it.

Tank mines and C4 (god I hate calling them that, they're Boomers damnit!) really need to be made more different.

Mines should be something you can carry a fairly tall stack of, but do not detonate on proximity, only when ran over (that includes you, Magrider!). It should take more than a couple to kill a tank, but they should be able to deploy in batches of a half-dozen or more and in dense enough fields that a tank going full speed isn't going to be able to stop before it runs over enough to blow up. A tank driver moving slower and able to react quickly enough should be able to avoid losing his vehicle though.

C4 (Boomers!) should remain the same (except the name!). High explosives that you can only carry a couple of but can be remote detonated to deal a great deal of damage.
