Yes, but the mass of people dont go to the crown because they want to defend it for their faction. they go there because of endless killwhoring and instant action. Adding more defences will make the problem you mentioned even bigger..

People focus so much on the Crown because it's a fun place to actually fight at.

Deleting it, so that people will be forced to play with the crap, won't solve anything.

The rest of the continent[world] will be more fun to play on when they fix various issues with the game.

I'm always on the lookout for a chance to deploy to the Crown when my empire are in the action there; can usually be guaranteed a good fight, either attacking or defending.

The Crown changes I think have good points for both the attackers and defenders. The extra cover on the open southern slopes certainly give attackers a better chance of not being slaughtered en masse, whilst the spawn room change I think favour the defenders slightly, as the new room is larger (more exits) and there is more of cover nearby in the form of buildings and barriers. The south exit of the existing spawn room was very open.

The Crown as it is is not one of the bases where spawn camping is such a problem, as the attackers must take over the tower before they can seriously camp the spawn, otherwise they would be picked off by people on the flight pads (especially by me with MAX + Dual Falcons).

Obviously named after Duane Ladejo, a UK runner.

Long term I would expect there will be many changes to bases and other locations, everything from foliage, battle damage, to who knows what else. If this game will be supported for 5+ years technology and this engine will prove and ample vehicle to justify modifying things every so often to keep it fresh as well.

Back to the trees, I don't think there should be a single strand of vegetation surviving anywhere near the Crown. Add a few black craters, with Vanu limbs scattered randomly.

The Crown will always be the centerpoint on the circular map that Indar is, I predicted it'd be the lynchpin of the stalemate before we even saw a first glance of it. :/

I think you'll find they've been buffed at the same time: they (and other air) can see MAXes at longer ranges now.
