What does S in weapon names stand for?

Superior?


Most of these weapons have 3 fire-modes and are equippable with the most types of attachments.

I believe it's "Select". I think I remember seeing it being labeled as such back in beta.

Also, I have a Gauss SAW S and I still have the usual fire-modes (Auto/Semi).

Likely to be "selective fire". Apparently the Solstice SF is super special because it gets the extra letter. It could also stand for "semi" I suppose, as in semi automatic fire mode.

Normally it would be "shortened" ... Shorter Barrel, folding stock and such shizzle
