a grappling hook?
in a game with a jetpack class? for whom? and why? i love grappling hooks, but i don´t see any use for them in ps2. the la already fills that niche.

I believe the devs mentioned they wanted to add utility tools with the bow, so well have to see exactly what that is before judging. I don't think its primary purpose is to simply be another weapon, at least I hope not.

If it was a replacement for the pistol and fired a grappling hook, I would be ok with that. Would be a pretty cool way to assault base walls and such. If they made the gate shields anti-infantry as well it would make it a required tool for the initial assault.

you win!
didn´t come up with such a funny idea. that would really be fun. but it should be able to hook and drag anything that has less weight than you and should also be available as a vehicleweapon. it really has to be something different than just another sniperweapon! also we could use the halflife gravity gun (the corpsethrowing powerversion of course) and the aperture science portable portal device! i would even like the bodyinflating digdug gun, but that may be a little too comedy style. any other ideas for really different weaponsystems?

This is what I think happened. Smed was playing BF3 Aftermath and saw the crossbow they had and imminently called up the PS2 team and forced them to put in a crossbow in PS2 too.
I'm not a fan of crossbows in FPS games, they tend to be totally OP or really sucks. But maybe it's a good stealth weapon for infiltrators. After all it should be allot more silent then weapons with silencer attached. |

I really just don't see how this will contribute to anything, unless it has some kind of utility outside of murdering people.
Either it is OP and a OHK at medium range with piss poor ROF, meaning I wont use it, or it is a grappling hook, tow cable, chain shot thing... at which point I'm going to go Just Cause 2 on PS2. ...Seriously I just thought of that... How awesome would it be to hook someone, then tie them to a low flying Reaver as it goes by. I'd have to shut the game off and go play something else at that point, because it would be Mission Fucking Accomplished for PS2. |

i could see this used as a utility gun for the infiltrator. yes, i mean as a grappling hook. "oh, but the LA already does that". yes, but maybe the hook is limited in where it can go, for example it can only hook onto tree branches, and climbing rocks may take longer (like drifter jump jets and "climbing" up walls).
it could also be used as a wire that could throw people off flashes? lol it could be used to flip vehicles? used as a tool to tow other vehicles, like a sunderer attached to a flash, or a tank attached to a galaxy? it doesn't do any damage/ cannot attach to infantry though? critique me if you will, its just a thought. |
