Hotfix broke the game

My game will 100% not launch. Every time I open the launcher, it installs 45MB, and then gives me this error (see attached picture.)
I tried contacting SOE help, and got no response. I tweeted at Planetside2, and they didn't reply either, even though they usually do.
I want to play!

Could be Anti-virus related. I know some had to add exceptions to Avast to get around issues it was having.

reading the message suggests that you aren't an admin of the computer, or it could have something to do with your anti-virus. turn off/add an exception to not scan/ block content in the PS2 folder.

also, make sure you aren't running multiple clients of the PS2 launcher.

if that doesn't work, maybe repair the game client?

click on the spanner at the bottom left and press "validate game files".

Yepp, had the same thing.

Planetside2.exe gets caught by anti-virus software. I disabled my AV for the patch process and turned it back on when i was in the game. You probably could also try to make an exception for this file in your AV software though (the better, but more complicated solution).

Still broken.

I hate having to disable Avast for any period of time (though I still will anyways, to play).

just put an exception for the planetside folder into avast then patch it. something in the patch is giving a false positive; you can remove the exception after the patch and everything will be fine.

Just a note, I had to put the exception in the Real-time shields setting, not the General settings exceptions. Just in case that helps anyone else play.

Is real-time shield the only function I have to disable?
