Question on the flight model

In the faq it says you can use certain buttons to make your vehicle ascend or decend. Is this nescesary? Or can you also increase/decrease altitude buy altering your craft's pitch? e.g. If you point the nose of the craft upwards will the craft move upwards and vice versa.

Edit: Also, is there a way to switch between VTOL and FTOL?

I absoultely despise the flight model. It is even more limited than the tribes2 model, I cannot do anything with any style or flair at all. I was an avid helicopter pilot in desert combat, one of the best of the best, but I refuse to fly anything in PS.

But that is just me.

Bah, were not on that subject anymore, now were showing off our ub3r l33t c0p13r skillz.

Edit: But then again, yea, the T2 flight model is a little too easy to master. I just hope dogfighting in PS won't end up as it did in T2, people used the scout flyer basically as an airborne mobile turret, only moving when they had a missile on there tail.

I'm reeeeeeeeally biased. I have a pilots license in rl, and I absolutely despise the T2 and apparently the PS flight models. It's just bullshit.

You may want to try it yourself before writing it off...

Well the flightmodel is arcade like, you can only pitch from -45 to +45 degrees. No dives or steep ascends.
