Its not like that, Im trying to show you guys to lighten up, that a community can seriously destroy a game. I dont know if its jus that tensions are high because open beta is comming or what, but most people Ive seen on this board are just serious assholes. A person posts a question or idea and the first reply I see is a retort about how dumb the person is or how dumb what he said is. Cant some of you learn "if you dont have anything nice to say dont say it at all".

Seriously, someone please tell me what snatch's point was when he posted "No, your dumb". Did that accomplish anything? All it did was tell me that this dude is a dick. When someone asks a question or gives a suggestion its wise that you respond if you have an answer or something else to contribute.

I was trying to help with something I saw as a problem and IMMEDIATLY people jumped all over my back instead of explaining things their way, thats not a good thing man.

I appologize in advance if this is taken the wrong way but as far as I can see there wasn't any serious contention in the said forums before you posted your complaint. Might I sugjest that instead of flaming everyone that can't or doesn't know how to fabricate an intelligent response to your complaint. Ya know it's like the whole "You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar" idea. Just a thought. (By the way though this whole thread should be in the Lounge area. Just for future refrence.

Alright then. You have obviously made up your mind. I have been in several game forums (first one I have followed since before release) to name a few (not that it matters) DAoC, T2, CS, and some others (who can remeber all these things?). Good luck with whatever you do. Hate to see someone miss out on alot of fun over seeing "NDA Lifted!!" one two many times but oh well. God speed (and moving at the speed of God is pretty quick

What I was trying to explain, is that this game is so big, it doesn't need a community to keep it together (and considering that it's an FPS game, and not an RPG adds to that). JG _needs_ a community, but PS hardly provides for a community to flourish at all, seeing you can't even chat with other empires in game. It's all forum based. And then, the only purpose for the forum is to discuss the game, not necessarily in game experiences (because it's unlikely those experiences will be shared with anyone else on the forums since the game is huge).

Anyway, everything else I had to say was in my PM.

Maybe thats where Im being misunderstood. What I posted was a suggestion, not a complaint. It turned into a compaint after the 2 idots replied without really adding anything but an insult. You see, I meant this as a suggestion because I thought it might help, but then (this is where the flame comes in) a few people jumped on my back (as I have seen in many other threads on this forum) which pissed me off and tailspun me into insulting the community. Im not gonna take it back, because its true, but you see.....if the first reponses wouldve been even semi-intelligent (whether positive or negative) it wouldve been all cool. I expected to hear either "Nah man, thanks but we're cool this way" or "yea, good idea dude, lets see if we can work it out" not "No, your dumb". Do you see what I mean? It was never meant to be what is it right now.

As I said in the PM PS is a FPS bame, but its also a MMO, which needs a community, if it didnt have one, it would be just another single player game with a playerserver multi setup a.k.a. you hop in and bash stuff when you feel like it then hop out. If it wants to be a true MMO its needs a community, thats what defines an MMO. If you dont have a group to share happenings with, its not MMO. If that said group is a group of jerks, no one's gonna wanna play.....see my point? Your simply forgetting the MMO part in MMOFPS

Course, and if you think about it even PS has some RP. As Moll said "RP is everywhere I tell you!" I mean, PS even has a backstory.

Yes, it most definately has a back story. That's part of the reason I choose Vanu.

But I'm not sure if RP and community necessarily go hand in hand...

BTW, PS could redefine MMO too, you never know.

Up until now, MMO games have been RPGs. The point of this MMO is that the battle never ends, not so much that you build up your characters role play.

I still just think you shouldn't judge the goodness of this game, and what this game will be by it's community. If you join a strong outfit, you can build up the "closeness" that JG has with a few people, and it will be just as effective. It's impossible to have a close community when there's 100,000 people playing the game though.

Anyways... time for bed
