ACE question

Where can you place an ACE. I know it has to be in a SOI. Can it be in an enemy SOI or just a friendly SOI? If it has to be in a friendly SOI, what constitutes a friendly SOI? Does the base have to be hacked or owned? Can you place them in the SOI of unpowered bases? What about towers? (same questions for towers).

You can place them anywhere except enemy soi. Simply right click to select the type of deployable, look at the ground and when the circle goes green you can deploy.

You can place Boomers anywhere anytime, Mines anywhere outdoors, anytime. Spitfires and Sensors will only be powered to work withing your teams SOI, which is the area around a base fully under your control.

Feign, I'm pretty sure the Spitefires and Motion Sensors don't need to be within a friendly soi to work. At least not at the moment. I placed several of them out in the middle of no where today and they took out an NC MAX.

Ok, and a few questions about motion sensors:

What happens when they detect something? Is the layer notified? Do they detect non infiltrators?

Also, what does the little radar dish that sometimes pops up next to the crouching indicator? I always thought it meant a motion detector had detected you. But it went of in the sanctuary once so.....

Boomers = anywhere/anytime
Mines = outside only
Sensors = inside/outside not within enemy SOI
Turrets = outside only not within enemy SOI

Mines might have an SOI thingy buy i dont think so.
