Introduction
It had not been the first time. Every person on Auraxis rembembered the First Alliance. The First Alliance was signed by the Terran Republic and Vanu Sovereingty. The NC were kicked back on five continents. The three that they connected to were just barely holding on, maybe controlling the closest facility to the NC Warp Gate. The Vanu Sovereignty had been developing naval craft since the war began. It had been close to a year. As of August 12, they had two types, kept in secret: A destroyer and landing craft boats. The destroyers had multiple Magrider guns and 75mm guns. The landing crafts had two Flux Cannons. There were only five destroyers but enough landing craft for half of the entire Vanu army. Negotiations then began, in secret, for a Terran-Vanu alliance against the New Conglomerate. Landing craft production was stepped up, so that by August 12, enough landing crafts existed for one entire faction. They were split in two, and on August 12, at 6:00 NC Sanctuary time, the two factions allied. Not an hour later, the invasion of the New Conglomerate Sanctuary took place. Invasion by normal means was impossible, of course. The warpgates to the NC Sanctuary respond only to NC soldiers. HART pods cannot drop there. The only way was by coastal invasion. And so it was done. Half of the Terran Republic's force and half of the Vanu Sovereignty's force were loaded up onto landing craft, which were then connected to the destroyers, which had significantly increased in number. The main city in the NC Sanctuary is between the second and third warp gates, so they would be starting a bit far from the objective. However, it was estimated that a swift victory would occur.

Southwest of the NC Sanctuary coast Three minutes to landing 6:43 PM ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ News of the Second Alliance shocked the NC leadership. Every soldier availble was sent out of the Sanctuary and sent to various bases to defend. It was all in vain. UndeadFenix stood a bit nervously in the landing craft. By now, the coast was visible. He was in his MAX armor, but still a bit apprehensive. His Comet Anti-Vehicular burning weapon was ready. Why did he pick that? UndeadFenix was legally a pyromaniac. He loved FIRE! The other Vanu stood inside, scanning the coastline. Nothing. There was no Vanu or Terran air support- vehicles cannot fly over the ocean. They literally walked ashore, without any gunfire. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Five minutes later NC HQ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Sir, we've got a huge catastrophe." The leader of the NC was at his desk, working on some papers when the aide told him. "What is it, Robert?" "We've been invaded." "Impossible." "They got here from the coast." "How many?" "Half of the Terrans and half of the Vanu." "Bull shit." The aide handed him a satellite image taken five minutes ago. "This can't be happening. Tell every soldier to recall NOW. On the triple! And take off weapon locks!" Respawning solders soon discovered that their weapons fired. The leader gave all NC forces on Auraxis a global message. "SOLDIERS OF THE NEW CONGLOMERATE: WE HAVE BEEN INVADED. EVERY SOLDIER AVAILIBLE IS TO RECALL HERE NOW!" Soldiers, from every part of Auraxis, got into the nearest Spawn Tube or AMS and deconstructed. They respawned in the Sanctuary. The fight for independence had begun.

NC Sanctuary City Apartment Complex 12 Apartment #331 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Brigadier General AztecWarrior, not surprisingly, had parents. His mother, father, and two brothers (not yet recruited) lived there. The apartment was a bit cramped, but it served well. "Hijo! Put on AGN!" Francisco, younger brother of Aztec (Mauricio was even younger), walked over to the TV and turned it on. AGN NEWS ALERT NEW CONGLOMERATE SANCTUARY INVADED! appeared on the bottom of the screen. The anchorman, a bass-heavy voiced man with a mullet, announced the news. "Initial reports confirm that the New Conglomerate Sanctuary has been invaded by the Terran-Vanu alliance. It is impossible to estimate the number of invaders at this moment, but the NC has been thrown a curveball and is scrambling to fight. The leader of the NC has taken off the continent-wide weapon lock. All citizens are to evacuate to the nearest military base possible." "Dad! We need to get out of here!" "Everyone! Pack what you need in a backpack and let's go!" Within minutes, they were gone. Elsewhere, the fighting started. NC forces were charging at the invaders, throwing caution to the wind. Despite being outnumbered and outgunned, they fought hard. But it got uglier.

New Philadelphia Suburb of NC City ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Destroyeron led his MAX squad through the streets. Tanks had been pounding on the city for several hours. His squad, mainly anti-infantry, would be the first in the city. As he stepped across an intersection, a ring of fire lit up around his squad of ten. Rockets screamed, and one of the MAXes fell dead. "FIRE ON THE ROOFTOPS!" It was a trap. Two civilians, armed with a hunting rifle and a Decimator, fired at the MAXes. In the shop to the right (an automobile shop), civilians had sprayed the ground with oil and then lit it on fire. The two civilians on the roof ducked back, but Destroyeron sprayed the shop with Dual-Cycler fire. The people inside were shredded, having no armor. NC units managed to arrive in the city. They were in the north while the Terrans were in the south. They had yet to meet. Aztec's parents were already at the easternmost military base. It is next to the easternmost warp gate. However, Aztec wasn't even on the continent. Terrans were freely looting the city. Anyone who stuck their head out was shot. Even civilians could respawn, however. The First NC Bank was levelled, its $250 million in credits stolen. The people put up resistance, but they were no match. Mostly they set traps, as shown with Destroyeron and the fire trap. In one trap, a crane in the middle of the road, seemingly empty, lay there, a piano dangling from it. As soon as Terrans got under, the hidden operator dropped it, killing two soldiers. Any partisans that were caught alive were subject to public, unrestricted beatings, then a shot to the head. The city was taken over, but not before the NC military arrived. But it was not occupied.

NC forces arrived.
Street fighting from windows and rooftops worked. The Terrans lost ground in the city. One tactic that worked well was racing Vanguards (the invaders could not bring vehicles) down the streets, mowing down anyone in their path. It was suicide, as you would take immense fire, but it would kill at least three Terrans. The ruins were the natural habitat of snipers. Many times, entire outfits had to take cover because of maybe two snipers. A few Decimator shots from the brave who leaned over the wall for a quick shot sometimes ended the stalemate. All in all, the Terrans were almost driven out. Then the Vanu arrived. The Vanu cut off the NC rescuers from their bases in the north. They effectively put the city under siege. However, they had no intention of wasting time taking the city. It was rigged with explosives. On a Terran General's command, half the city was destroyed. The rest was bombarded for the rest of the day. By nightfall, there was barely anything left.

Hossin Wilderness ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Brigadier General AztecWarrior (Reaver pilot) and his wife-to-be, Black Widow (cloaker), were injured badly after an attack on a Terran base. They were currently lying in the marshes. "...how are you holding up, Aztec?" "aaahhh....not good." They heard a Galaxy. Black Widow cloaked, Aztec dove for the water. That was their plan. "Brigadier General! This is a search-and-rescue mission! We need you, fast!" Aztec crawled out. Two medics came to attend to him. "We'll have to stabilize him here, he's hit bad! CLOAKER!" They saw the distortion, and were about to fire MAG-Scatters when Black Widow decloaked. "Safe! Ma'am, are you hurt?" She nodded, and fainted. "Get them aboard, we need to get out of here!" Aztec spoke to the doctors on board the Galaxy. "How did you find me?" "Your outfit had some sort of Galaxy-mounted radar." The old Brigadier General of the outfit had nicknamed it the "Dolphin." "Second time that's saved me." "Sir, I'm afraid I have very bad news." "The Sanctuary's invaded, yes, I know." "Yes, sir. It's getting pretty bad. We could use you. We've got reports of at least one enemy aircraft that is completely invisible. Furthermore..." "Aaaugh! Careful with that!" (they were removing the bullets) "...we've got this mission here from Command. Straight from the desk." Aztec read the paper. "TO: Brigadier General AztecWarrior, Screaming Eagles Air Squadron FROM: NC High Command Your mission is to find any information availible, and if possible, destroy the two rumored 'Super=Mosquito' aircraft. They are known to be invisible, even when moving. Be extremely careful. You have no choice in this matter- you must perform this mission." "Great. This is a suicide aaahhhhh!" "Sorry, sir!" "STOP CALLING ME SIR AND START WATCHING HOW YOU GET THE BULLETS OUT!" "Will do, sir." The Galaxy made it to the Sanctuary. He was postitoned at the eastern gate base, where the rest of his squadron was.

Aztec needed a Reaver. He walked from the HART building to the vehicle pad. Civilians were running around, so police had to direct traffic. Refugee tents were being bult. It was basically chaos, but with order.
As he got off the Galaxy and walked towards the aircraft spawn, he noticed someone calling his name. "Hijo!" "Mom!" His parents had made it out. His brothers were also there, in one of the tents. "You made it out!" "Where have you been? Do you know the news?" said his dad. "All too well. I was...er...lost in a storm. They found me and brought me back." "Is this the end? What are they telling you?" "All they told me was to go report for duty, and I can't keep the waiting. Bye!" He lied liberally. He actually had a suicide mission. He ran to the pad, got his Reaver, and met his outfit at the gate. A mass exodus was no good- enemy forces were assembled outside the gate, waiting for someone to come out. "Ok, outfit, we have some problems. I have this mission here, to get any information on reported 'Super Mosquitoes'. I have no idea how many or where they are. Does anyone have some information?" The executive officer spoke up. "It was reported not five minutes ago over New Conglomerate City." "Ok. Katrina (executive officer), you're in charge until I get back. I want to do this alone, it could get pretty bad out there." He got in his Reaver and took off to find something that, officially, did not exist.

NC City is a large city smack in the middle of the Sanctuary.
Aztec flew high over it, high enough so that the ground soldiers wouldn't notice. He had already shot down three Liberator bombers. (See PSU home page). The Vanu were leading the attack. The NCs in New Philadelphia were decimated. The Vanu forces, that had cut them off from the north, now attacked the city. If New Philadelphia was bad, NC City was worse. Very little military movement was possible- either rubble or fleeing citizens covered the streets. Any movement was in the air, and SAMs going up were extremely common. Aztec had lost count of the amount he had dodged. He saw a distortion at two o'clock low. He dived, 20mm blazing. His guns were set to Camera and Gun, so that his target was being recorded. The thing dropped its 2 bombs, and screamed away at huge speed. "Aztec to NC Command, I think that I have found what you desire." "Do you have one intact?" "No. I have some gun camera footage. Here, download it," After a few seconds, command radioed back. "Excellent. Return to base." A storm blew in. Thunder, rain, and fog obscured everyone's view. Aztec nearly hit a refugee camp on landing.

NC Command Bunker, eastern gate base 1 hour later NC City: 50% NC control Hours since invasion: 48 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Well, sir, it appears to have bombs, a laser shield similar to that on our MAX, and can get out of there really fast." "Did you try Darklight tracking?" "Yes, sir, just a little better." Aztec (1-star General) was talking to a 4-star General. "There is not much that..." There was a large explosion far away. "...we can do to stop these, but at least there aren't many. What the hell was that?" The radio chattered, almost inaudibly. "They've hit an ammo dump." said one of the radio operators. "Aztec, take your squadron and knock down every aircraft possible. We can't have another New Philadelphia." "Yes, sir." He saluted and told the rest of the squadron the mission. Everyone took off.
