F**k SOE ... Lockups now??

This new patch, supposedly fixing many problems, has created a new problem bigger than all the rest combined. Now on Emerald many people are experienceing computer hardlocks more and more frequently at spontaneoyus moments. I didnt pay for beta, did you?

I'm sorry my friend posts like this occomplish very little I highly recomend you submit your bugreport and hope. Hell EQ locked up my computer right up to the day i kicked that habit. These things are bound to happen in this type of game/enviroment, submit yoru bug report others will submit theres the CS reps will corelate the data and pass it to the programers along with their next ration of bread and water.

You will be paying to beta test planetside until you cancel your account.

I've had my everquest account active for over 3 years...I've been beta testing every second I've played it.

That's how these games work.

Yeah the latest patch royally fukked the game, but no doubt a correction will be coming down the pipe soon.

Too many people are on Emerald! Thats why it has the most problems then all the servers. Im on Markov and run my game on High Details and have no problems. I suggest move to a different server (as if thats gonna happen cuz of ur characters) or just hold up for some more fixes. SOE to this date since i started exclusive beta has not let me down too bad. The split xp thing really hurt but eh, the point of the game is to cap bases anyways.

That's the weird thing - I NEVER have any of these problems, and I run a lesser machine than some of the people who lock up. It's bizzare. I do wonder if it has something to do with the fact that I play on Konried - I got onto Emerald a while ago and there were an INSANE number of people there. I did crash after a while, but my 56K was so lagged I was going to quit anyway.

If you're having trouble, try one of the other servers. Lord knows the NC on Konreid need some help ^_^

It's not just emerald, it's markov too. Last night the game totally froze for me twice in 20 minutes - that hasn't happened since the early days of beta. And it wasn't just me - at one point I saw at least twenty people standing around LD. Something about that last patch definitely screwed us up.

agreed. Too many CTDs and hardlocks. I'm taking a PS haitus until some of the crashing gets under control. For some reason I had no problem putting up with it in beta, but now it's just annoying the crap out of me.

It could be because I'm foaming at the mouth for daoc like I end up doing every 4 or 5 months. Once I get sick of the endless level treadmill i'll be back to PS, CTDs and all.

*scratches head and ponders* You know... I saw a similar situation on Konried during an assault on Pwyll (NC held) a few days ago... I forget if it was pre or post patch, though...

I just wish I knew why *I'm* not having any issues aside from lag (which I'm smart enough to expect, given my 56K.) As I've said, my machine is a slightly lesser beast than many of ones the people crashing use... what's so special about me? O.o

Yup...something changed. This machine which never ever has an issue locked up many times tonight. End task..boom back in business.

Always seemed to happen when a loud noise was playing. I changed my sound output to Miles 2d and it hasn't happened since (though I didnt play very long).

Locked up total of 5 times tonight.

i saw this coming. They were completley NOT ready for the game to be released by the end of beta. their mistake.

yes, Sentrosi points at Tribes2 and how the many patches never perminately eliminated the UEs. I had the game since it came out and just recently decided not to play anymore. I was still dropping UEs faster than a $2 lady of the night.
