I'm not so sure...

With the current reasoning of the PS staff, and the way they (ha ha ha) balance things, the Liberator will have the armor equivalent of a tank (I shit You not)!

How many tanks have You taken down with Your Lancer recently?

(Can You tell I'm a somewhat disgruntled Vanu myself? )

I don't see why you think the lancer sux0rz.

I stole 2 of them tonite for the first time (just got AV cert) and i found them to be quite the weapon, i killed many a MAXs with it and i took down 1 mag and helped with many others. Maybe i just lack expericence with it but from what i saw tonite it's pretty cool.

Ok - let me explain:

I actually do Like the lancer. It's pretty much the only decent Vanu weapon. Ok-ok-ok, It's a damn cool weapon.

I mostly use it at long ranges against infantry, and at stationary or slow moving targets. The problem is that the ones You really need to hit - the Reavers, Tanks etc, are seldom standing still.

How many times have You see an enemy tank approach Your position, come to a grinding halt, and haul up a poster saying "Shoot me!"?

The problem is right there. All vehicles has a mobility or a sturdiness that way surpasses the handling or capacity of the Lancer. It takes some 22 to 24 shots from a Lancer to blow up a tank. (I'm lucky if I'm able to get off a full clip (6 shots) before I am either run over or gunned down.)

Bottom line: You miss alot with the Lancer against the targets it's supposed to handle.

The hit ratio in actual combat is simply too low. I'd give my left nut for some kind of missile/projectile lock.

My suggestion, if SOE won't give us a missile lock of some kind, is to tone down the damage it does against infantry, and seriously up the damage it does against its intended targets - Armored vehicles. Somewhere along the lines of 4-5 shots to kill a MAX instead of the current 6.

(Sorry for changing the subject - I don't want to turn this board into the mayhem that's the official boards (i.e. whining bonanza). Do forgive me.)

Back on track:

Would a skeeter/Liberator combo be good?

What if You put the squad leader in the mosq, and had him scout out targets with his nose radar, then simply waypoint it for the Liberator (and what have You) to attack?

Would be perfect to get AMSs, for example.
