The official PS forum is ridiculous!

I try to avoid it, but every so often my curiousity gets the better of me - and it boggles my mind because it is constantly the same stuff over and over! I think I've seen a thread on every single weapon system in the game stating that the weapon is "TEH OVERPOWRDD" and telling you that every single enemy soldier you come across uses this OVERPOWRDD weapon.

I guess its funny, but really its sad how many gamers would rather cry and moan when something frustrates them in the game instead of trying to improve their tactics/teamplay.

All of SOE's boards are trainwrecks. Do people turn off their brains when they post on their boards?

Unfortunately this seems to happen with almost every game now. People just like to complain I think. Whenever a multiplayer game has sides with different weapons, the balance argument will go on forever.

The discussions here are much better, much more informed, and much more mature. Like you, though I find myself over on the official boards from time to time.

The official forums are a mess. People go there to badmouth the game with no constructive critisism what-so-ever. Very rarely do i see anyone post "This game didnt live up to its hype or potential, but heres some things the gamers would like". Mostly its "SOE is t3h sux!!".

On the other hand, were starting to go to the exact opposite of the spectrum on this board. Its getting more and more difficult for people to post constructive critisism here without extremist fanboys like NightWalker and Nitsch running in and going "Omfg! If you dont like PS why the fuk do you play it?! God, your such a moron! This game is gods gift to the earth! Anyone that doesnt think its perfect must be a total moron!"

Ive given up hope for the official forums. Im just hoping that Hamma will get the fanboys in check over here. No respectable poster likes having somoene run into a thread offering constructive critisism and getting flamed just because they dont believe a game is 100% perfect.

It's just that here people come here to figure out how to play the game better, not bitch and moan (that is what official boards are for).

If I get beat in game, I choose to figure out how I can change my playstyle so it wont happen again, instead of go whining to the boards that the game sucks.

An excellent example was a thread earlier about lightning�s. I personally thought lightning�s sucked ass and should be totally changed, till I read the thread on useful strategies to use them. The next day I pulled out a lightning and used some of the tactics and found they kicked ass! This are what boards are about.

We are not here to change the game but to learn more about it.

I just don't want to see these boards degrade into what has happened to many fanboards and turn into total whinefests.

I like boards that are places people go to learn and discuss a game strategy, not push their personal agenda.

If you want to be an activist... focus your energies elsewhere.

I agree with you, for once, that's all people say "Waaah, make the lancer better" Then the NC go "Waaah, lancer is too tough" and the TR go "waaah, why'd you nerf our chaingun" and the VS go "waaah, make the chainguns weaker" thats all it is, I wanna shoot every single last one of them! but "Waaah, they nerfed my lasher!"

Well, even "constructive" criticism is kind of pointless to post here - as no one here has the power to change the game. No doubt the game is not perfect - what game is? But beyond posting your initial impressions/review of the game, is there really any point in criticising PS here at a fansite?

Y'know tek... I'm not one to flame, anyone who's been here for a few months know that. I only post when I have something to say... and most of the time it's something possitive.

I will say I read your review, felt it was well thought out, well written, and made several very valid points.

However, after that point the second anyone disagreed with you, in either a constructive, or un-constructive manner you immediatly went to the "How old are you" and "I hate Fanbois!!!" crap...

Do not complain about a problem when you are a part of it!

these boards are still a rare bastion of light on the internet where intelligent discussion can still be had about something as important as a game!

I want to say that the DC sux and needs a nerf, then I do and... shock the DC fans come back and say why it doesn't need one.

I dunno... I just find it so hard for everyone to fall into typical stereotypes. You are either a Fanboi (love game, none to minimal changes at best), Naysayer (hate the game but love the concept, think that SOE did everything wrong), or Reasonably Intelligent (kind of like the game as is but unless changes are made will not hook you for another 6 months). Most would agree I'm no Fanboi. Some would disagree that I'm not a Naysayer, but they are just plain stupid ( ).

But yes! The official forums are crap. It seems the offical forums are teh sux0r for any game, though, as someone else said. So no surprise there.

At least we have our PSU; where Fanbois, Naysayers, and the Reasonably Intelligent all come to put aside their differences and sing the "We are the World" song harmoniously while holding hands... unless it's a Tuesday or Wednesday.

Oh SWG is sad...my friend plays BETA or played or whatever and I was aroudn at his house, half of the people in that game have names like Yoda123 or XObiWanX its so damn sad, and I think theres a guy with the username George Lucas too
