Planetside requires a video card with 32.0MB of memory or greater.

Your machine appears to have 0.0MB.

Planetside will now exit.

Of course, I have yet to play.

ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
AMD 1.5 GHz
768 megs of PC2100 DDR
WinXP Pro SP1
DirectX 9.0a
LATEST drivers from ATI

Sony says update my motherboard BIOS. Done. Still the error.

I went back to the original drivers from the ATI cd and still nothing, tried drivers inbetween the old cd and current...nothing.

Sony technical support says it must be a problem with my computer. Why can't the game just start instead of requiring 32 megs of video memory.

I have NO problems with any other game and I've had this system for 6 months.

This is my first Sony computer related product I've ever purchased...

Help? Please?

I had the same problem, but the root of mine was a bad stick of memory. have you added anything new to your system lately? Other then that, I have no idea.

Well, oddly enough its working. I cleared all BIOS settings to default and then adjusted them back to what I thought they should be. When I booted it did not work. Then I reinstalled Directx9.0a and then installed the Catalyst 3.2 drivers and it worked fine.

I had not added anything to my system recently and it was a near fresh install of XP. They only thing I had added was Office XP and Neverwinter Nights.

DXDIAG had always showed my video card memory as N/A, everything else looked normal, but after I did all those things to my system (again for the 8th time), DXDIAG reads all of my 128 megs of video memory.

Very odd indeed.
