Why do peanut butter and jelly sandwiches always land pb down?

Why then when you put peanut butter on a cat's back and throw it off the roof, it hovers inches off of the ground instead of picking a side to land on....waitaminute...vanu hover, cats hover..... I saw a few people commenting that vehicles will stay until destroyed? Seems to me they'd have to despawn after a certain amount of time, other wise you'd risk having unused vehicles all over the place sucking up server cyles?

They stay for a while, I suspect when the owner dies they have a short timeout then dissapear
