Silent Nerf? The Rocklet!


Did anyone see anything official about this?

They appear to have added a delay to the secondary fire mode. You go around the corner, see the enemy at close range, hit fire <KLICK!> Wait half a sec, get shot up as the rocklet finally decides to let loose. By the time you get back to cover you're normally at least half dead. The poor man's Jackhammer got nerfed

This was in the list, but hidden at the bottom:

"11) The secondary firing mode of the Rocklet didn't have proper delays set on its aesthetic qualities. That has been fixed now to match the actual function of the weapon."

Aesthetic? That only refers to the cosmetic side of things. All I thought they meant was to match the animation to the burst of rockets....

Twas my tool for smoking the NC bastage so I can take his Jackhammer....

Maybe I can pull out my Chaingun and he'll die of laughter or think me unimportant and shoot the guy next to me...oh well - time to try some new tactics.

WTF was the point in nerfing a common pool weapon I never heard anyone bitch about?

And yes, whine mode is set to max

my roomate was none to happy about this I dont really see the problem When I had spec assault and used the rocklet I used it in primary fire mode. that way I only used the ammo that I needed to use.

I used to use both modes equally... You flank the enemy, then unload on him with the secondary fire.. but now there's a good chance they'll turn around during the delay which kinda complicates things

Unfortunately this makes secondary fire almost worthless, since with the delay you can release all 6 rockets almost as fast with primary fire, and with more accuracy to boot. And a delay in firing a close-quarters weapon is just suicidal, it really bites. But oh well.

If anything, they should have added a delay to RELOADING after an alt fire of mass rockets. That would have at least made more logical sense (weapon needs a few more seconds for cooldown) and would have still given a slight disadvantage.

The Lancer has a delay like that to stop it from being used easily in close quarters... The secondary fire on the Rocklet is only accurate right up close..anything more and they go all over the place.

So I guess they want to prevent the CQB use of this weapon...

I love it now when you use the secondary fire on the Rocklet and your target darts behind a wall or something. Only to have a bunch of friendlies chase after him and and into your reticle right before blast-off.
