Well I been playing PS since open beta started and yes I had to wait a week to get the 3 gig cd. All during beta I was VS b/c I like the shineing purple color. I try the other 2 for a day but keep VS. Now Im re-doing my hole charecter. I was always in my infitration suit but got tired of that and wanted ACTION!
So what is the best wepon to use? I use all the wepons MANY of times but still cant decide. Im currently useing Specail assult with my re-inforce armor but Im hardly killing people.... |

Pulsar's bein buffed, Lancer is a very nice weapon against infantry (at the moment, may be subject to change/balancing) if you're good with it, Lasher is decent at med-close range, Beamer is pretty poor, Force-blade makes no noise but looks like a glowstick, MAX jumpjets are handy sometimes, Mag-Rider is the ultimate roadkill machine, and the thresher- well, I dunno about the Thresher...

Why is it hard to use? (I've never played the purple, I don't know these things)

yeah, that's horribly crappy! lancer takes some practice, because you need to learn how to guide the target so that the lancer hits them, even when they're strafing. i've done it before |

The Pulsar is not a good weapon. Take a suppressor instead (I'm serious; the suppressor is more accurate and does the same damage/sec). Outside of 80 meters, the Pulsar does almost no damage (about 3 damage to armor, 2 damage to health).
The Lasher is a good weapon. You have to be very good with leading your shots, but it kills best at the 10-30m range. It'll whup jackhammer and MCG users as long as you don't let them them get close (use Surge). The Lancer...I've mixed feelings against these things. If people in your squad are carrying, go ahead and carry it (multiple lancers are necessary to take down vehicles). However, if you want something that can nail infantry from a distance to complement your lasher, take a sniper rifle instead. The lancer will not hit infantry-sized targets every time outside of 100m. It'll miss about half its shots at that range (on an infantry-sized target). Take a beamer, and then use it to drop on the ground to hide your boomers. That's the only thing it's good for. The Magrider is good, but watch out for obstacles. A palm tree leaf will do about 1200 collision damage. Keep in mind the Mag is a large AV magnet, and its maneuverability doesn't help against strikers. The Thresher is retarded. With the new vehicle cue, it takes about 20% damage coming off the pad in autodrive, and it also constantly veers to the right. MAXes...well, the AA MAX isn't good for killing, but it is good for scaring away aircraft. You won't get kills unless you surprise a reaver. The AV MAX sucks balls. The projectiles move slower than a running infantry. Don't use it. It's only good for killing other MAXes indoors, and even then, you suffer from having to walk right up to the other MAX in order to hit it. Also, the projectiles do splash damage, so you'll hurt yourself killing other MAXes. The plasma effect resets itself every time a new projectile hits the target, so there is effectively no plasma effect at all. The AI MAX is alright. It suffers from the same retarded damage drop off, so you have to be within 50 meters of your target. Don't jump if a Striker locks on to you. Be ready to reload, a lot. Don't expect to kill someone carrying an AV weapon, unless that person is really stupid. |

ATM the Lancer is the VS weapon of choice... It does good dmg... Has good range.... And holds 6 rounds where the sniper rifle holds one... Also if you like being a MAX killer the Lancer is the way to go... On a MAX at full health you have to reload once to get the kill so you will want cover... Now I go after MAX's with my lancer...

I played Vanu for a while in beta, and the Lancer was definitely my favorite weapon, which I carried with reinforced and a Pulsar. Though I would usually try to save my Lancer ammo for max units and vehicles, if you could hit an infantry just once, it would weaken him substantially for finishing off with the Pulsar.
