how do I do that? oh and my computer is saying that its missing a windows file and it won't run. how do I fix that?

Hello,

You shouldn't need to mess with your settings. The wireless link should work alone as it is. Your problem is probably with your ISP or your router/modem. What brand are you using? Linksys are notorious for having problems when two people try to game through the same Linksys NAT router, one on wireless and the other wired. The device for some reason has problems routing both sources and destinations of data. I finally gave up on trying to resolve it myself and just got both machines on wired.

Test something if you can, and put yourself on a wired connection as a test. Just move your computer or run a long patch cable. See if when you are on a wired link if the problem goes away. See if the problem gets worse when you dad or some other computer on the same connection is using the Internet heavily. I suspect if you switch to a wired connection the problem will go away. If it does not go away though, then it is more than likely your ISP. Before you complain to your ISP though, make sure you go and get the latest drivers for your gaming computer's NIC. I'd do this first in fact since it takes the least amount of work. Drivers alone can cause packet loss, so update yours to remove that as a possibility. Then connected through wired, and then finally call your ISP.

I occasionally get the new packet loss window popup, but I know it is my lousy Adelphia cable modem connection. It is nice to know that it was added in the last patch. I at first thought something else was wrong, and now I know not to worry about it. When they patch stuff, I really wish they would release ALL of the changes and additions!

Ive been haveing the same problem, but let me ask you this: Is every user with this problem running on a cable modem? I am.

I've pretty much determined(through viewing the systems sorrounding the problem) that the main issue is with cable connections. These popups do occasionaly occure with DSL and other connections, but never with the frequecy of cable.

One guy in the offical forums fixed the problem by giveing a BS reason to get the cable company to replace his modem, you could try that.
