So my computer wont turn on after it got shut off by the power going out . Im wondering do you guys think its my motherboard or the power supply? Im praying to god its the power supply because i have like 5 other cases lying around the house. But i dont think i can afford a new motherboard. Newayz am i wasting my time here or is it probably just the mother board and not even bothering testing it out.

Hello,
Nothing happens? No boot up process at all? No beeps? No BIOS or other data on the monitor as you turn it on? If not, swap the power supply out. Test it again. Swapping the power supply is an easy thing to do, and it is a 10 minute job since you have other cases laying around. I know it is hindsight, but save up your money and get an APC UPS. You'll save tons of money as a home or office user by having your system on battery and surge protectors of good quality. If it doesn't work after swapping the supply, the motherboard is definitely royally nuked. Hopefully it is only the motherboard and not expansion cards, your HD, and other parts as well... 8-( |
