Now before we begin two things. 1- It is to be noted i'm pissed. 2- It is also to be noted that this may or may not be considered spam but some but read again, it has for a purpose to spark discussion about the following subject and has a lot more depth to it than some posts/polls in the lounge. Also be warned that some of the following items might not be clear to people who have never played RTCW : Enemy Territory.
And now Dio's first public rant, titled : "Now i remember why i hate the FPS crowd." "Now i remember why i hate the FPS crowd." Picture this, you're an undercover agent, you are amidst artillery strikes, grenades exploding and bullets zooming by. You fire left, fire right, you slaughtered countless soldiers of the formidable but inferior Allied troops. You snipe them as they attempt to cross the beach and destroy the all important seawall battery cannon. You destroy their weakly constructed assault ramps countless times. You are indeed, kicking ass. You're among the top of your squad, you are their only good spy and undercover agent. Yes you are the top covert ops in your Axis team on a server of Enemy territory. It's great until.... Until the FPS attitude kicks in. You (politely) state that the Allies have managed to get the forward bunker and you need help, only 3, 4 tops soldiers are attempting to push the Allies back to the beach. You state after a few deaths that it's too late, the Allies have secured it and all is lost, suddendly a member of the server's clan speaks. "Please keep your ignorance to yourself" What? Did he actually just say that ? You respond "Jeez sorry for speaking my mind." having no fear of this kid. A few mins later you are indeed overrun and lose the match.
So let this be a lesson kids, if you play an FPS there will be many a jerks like this Cornfed from the =JC= (=Just cause=) clan who cannot act mature, they can't have a civilized and fair conversation, if he can bash you while you can't say a word he's happy, otherwise you won't be allowed to speak to him, you might make the others realize he's only 15 and doesn't know a thing about tactics and strategy. Thank you for reading Dio's rant. Please forgive the length but as all good rants this one took over my hands. All opinions are welcome, flames can be directed to Cornfed of the =JC= clan on Enemy Territory. Thank you and goodnight. |

I am sitting here Dio, with my little black librarian glasses, chewing on my trusty wooden pencil while savoring the cotton goodyness of my pjs while i read your rant post... and then, i broke the pencil in half with my thumb and teeth...
How did i temporarily transform myself into wonder woman and break a solid #2? Well, it was my common rage. Its true... FPS are filled of immature players... I think too many times people think all the immature players are kids...but whenever i was leader of my own clan, i was able to have the younger members act just as dignified as the older members... (it was quite some time ago... i believe we all must have been young... lol) but i am able to completely sympathize with you...and that is why no matter what, i will always play were the community is... that is the only reason why i still stick around PSU... I'm not going to play PS...ever. but i have just come to enjoy too many people from here just to leave... I have always been fortunate to find good people to play FPS with... a blessing not too many people find...but i'm grateful for it... and you'll fall into the same groove too sometime with a special FPS... who knows, maybe it will be you and me for T:V ya (even when you need to rant a lil' ) eMa |

... and Dio.... this is why we're going to just buy you some damn ram so you can come play with some real teammates instead of the asses you find elsewhere |

And i did find a good FPS community, this one. All of PSU and most of the PS community is great even the T2 community was always friendly or at the very least respectful and mature to me. The "in" FPSes though usually suck. (games like RTCW, SoF, CS, etc) the bigger the crowd the more jerks in it. Oh and btw i kept saying kid in my rant but don't think that means i think all teens suck, as i said before Squeeks is one of the youngest here but still one of the most mature and a damn good sport. /me goes back to fantasizing about eMa and her librarian glasses softly nibbling her *ahem* pencil |

I could bring up MY old standby ZShazz, but that would be a case of falling back on just one example. Yes, FPS are filled with immature, ADHD-ridden players who cover their morning Lucky Charms with crushed Ritalin. This thus leaving you a few options:
1.) Ignore them. This usually works, because it is clear that these brats were raised on attention and thusly crave it. Ignore them, and you cut the very umbilical cord which feeds their infant-like behavior. 2.) Argue with them. Though less effective, you can also win against them by just standing them down. Of course, on some of the more...persistent of foes, this is ineffective and at best yields a few funny stories. 3.) Quit. That simple. If the game is populated with assholes similar to the ones we are all familiar with, try something else. Who knows? You may actually get a good team to work with.

i am also 14, and i have found that people of your same age seem to respect you more, probably because they can understand how you think better, also adults HATE being corrected by someone much younger than them, espcialy teacher, who are payed to teach us, they dont like being showed up by their pupils, that is so fun (my knowledge of wars seriously irritated my history teacher who was in Vietnam, every time we discuss a war in class i take every chance i get to correct a mistake he made) also i have benn grounded sevral times for fixing my dads computer, because he is computer illiterate, he managed to fry my computers video card because he didnt know that you had to be grounded or run the risk of shorting it out so i screamed at him THATS WHY IT COMES IN A STATIC PROOF BAG YOU STUPID..... i cut out when i realised i would get grounded
oops starting to rant, but thats ur job dio so ill stop now
