The XP system.

This needs both a much higher reward for actually contributing (machinery repairs - should be limited to cbt eng, corpse revivals and above all killing stuff), and defense. Not to mention both individual skill, and achievements by a particular unit. Anyone else getting tired of seeing something like "w00t, a 5k cap

" from people who have done naff all but follow the herd and mill about aimlessly ?

That fits in with the platoon thing. If XP is still going to be dished out in such huge chunks for base caps after the "CTF" changes, you need a unit organisation big enough to conduct a cap against significant opposition by itself, so the reward is (primarily) to that one platoon/outfit/whatever.

If you'd actually read anything I wrote you'd know I love this game and have probably put in more time on the test server than 99% of the people here.

Simple fact is, that prebeta, all through beta, and up until last month I was this games biggest fan. I've put in as much time on the test server as anyone here. I've submitted as many ideas as I can think of.

Am I angry that these guys seem to not listen to the community, goof off when *they* are on the test server, send patches live when they know they aren't ready, intentionally deceive customers on new content updates, implement new abstract ideas as bandaids instead of implementing the ideas the community likes, reintroduce the same bugs every patch, and all in all seem to have lost the vision they had for the game just 6 weeks ago? Yes I am.

So does that mean I should just puss out and leave? Screw that. I love this game and I worked through beta and work on the test server to make it better. If everyone who isn't happy with the game's direction leaves without fighting for their ideas, then you'll have about 400 fanbois fighting each other and a lot of nuetral bases.

Simple fact is, if you don't like my criticism of the game, don't read it. There's an ignore button. My points aren't trivial or refutable. If you don't like it, it's not my problem.

This game does not need a bunch of lemming fanboys who won't speak up about anything, it needs harsh critics who will give the game the tough love it needs.

How much time have *you* guys spent on the test server?

I'd hardly say I'm a fan-boy (P.S. fanboi isn't a word, genius). I can't even play the game it's so buggy right now but since I'm paying about $9.99 for the game I'm willing to keep my account active until things get fixed. Let me say this again since you seem kind of dense: I'm not a huge fan of PS right now.

The difference is I have 3 years experience dealing with MMOs so I know what to expect and know that bitching, and on a fansite I might add, will do absolutely nothing. If you want to at least try to make a difference you could go rant about the game wth the rest of the fools on the official forums, but I have a feeling that probably won't happen.

Planetside needs tough critics, you're right. But they need tough critics that are level headed and experienced in dealing with MMOs. You, apparently, are neither.

By the way suggesting if you seem to not like the game, don't like the Devs, feel you're being ripped off etc, that you can always cancel is common fucking sense, something you seem to be lacking. Now do you want to play some more, Nav? Because this is actually kind of fun
