Finally, a use for the Beamer

ever seen those little sterno cans troops in the field use to heat food? well, a beamer is a handheld meal cooker. it's a little bigger than a sterno can, but it can last alot longer and cook a whole helluva lot more food.

well, ok, fine. it's way too big and runs out of ammo before it warms up a bowl of ramen noodles.

The beamer is weak. Powerful weak. As an infiltrator, another infiltrator snuck up on me and started shooting at me with one. he got off 2 shots and I turned around and blew him away in a couple from my mag scatter.

How can you kill things with a beamer? maybe get 10 guys to all circle strafe something all firing ap might take a max down to half health, but still...

I use the beamer to burn the remains of enemy soldiers off of my buggies after I mow them down.

As for the Vanu knife, it's, uh, kinda scary to se a guy on an ATV driving up to you with it ignited.

This is my post about beamer fun!

Last night I was in my pilot garb... which is a Mag Scatter, a Glue gun, A REK and 4 boxes of rockets. All in Agile.

Not thinking I Harted into a contenent to join up with some Outfit memebers. I missed my mark and had to walk a ways, trying to get to a friendly Tech center to get a Reaver of DOOOOMM!

While walking I come upon a VS sniper. I walk up behind him, pull out my trusty mag scatter with one Magazine and dispatch him (takes abut 5 shots on reinforced) So my trusty pistol was now empty, but I see that there is a base assault going on below me... I got lost sue me.

So I loot the Beamer with it's 1 magazine of ammo and head off to battle.

Now here is where the great fun began... I somehow, in a massive inside battle end up inside, and behind all the VS... I proceded to shoot them... one goes down, I loot his pistol, and proceed (this time it was an AMP) I get up behind another, jack him with the AMP, and loot his beamer. I killed one more when they really noticed me so I pulled my knife and charged! ( seeing as I had no more ammo)

So from my Experience I will say, to kill with any pistol take close to a Magazine of ammo, that's true for the beamer as well. The MAg-scatter has a long time between shots, while the beamer you can pump them out (just takes twice as many.

I guess in the end I'll declare the Beamer to be pimptacular! And will also say that trying to go through a battle with never reloading, just using looted weapons was great fun!

I've actually killed two revears with my Repeater... granted they were almost dead, but still.

I've killed a guy with one amp bullet while I was running and he was at medium distance, now that is some luck! He must of only had 1 health left and I killed him with that one amp bullet with that huge CoF. Also I've taken down alot of people with a beamer in about 1-3 shots but they were all pretty much dead. So I don't think I can say I've ever killed a guy, from full health, down to nothing. Like another time a threw a plasma grenade and then took out my beamer and started shooting the guy, but I got to kill him as slow as a I wanted because he was shooting at me with a phoenix... Lol he missed me awhole lot and even if he hit me it would only do 25 health and 25 armor damage.

Lol and the sad thing was when a beamer took down my almost dead reaver, but when I bailed and the guy came running under my reaver, my reaver fell on him and crushed him to death, very funny .

Only thing beamer is good for: clearing mines as an infiltrator when you dont want to waste your jammer nade

I liked it when I had a VS infil, it does more damage then a repeater, and shoots almost as fast.

It cant kill people quickly like an AMP or MAG-scatter, but at range it can do well.

Atleast you children of Barney can say you have a decent AA weapon now.

The beamer may not be all that powerful, but it sure is accurate. I don't think I've ever missed a single shot when using it. You get a lot of satisfaction out of actually killing someone with it.
