If you do infact compile a list of armor or weapon damage information I'd be very interested in it. I've been contemplating over the last few weeks on starting a website that would have all of this data readily avaliable. In addition, I was thinking CEP and BEP information, as well as a run down of EXACTLY how the capture exp system works (and other grey areas (i.e. what is the fastest way to drain NTU, etc). Basically just the things that everyone wants to know, and yet, I've found no readily avaliable source.

And to everyone, if you've got any sources where any of the said information could be found, let me know, I'd be very happy to know about it

All the HA weapons are the same size. So just grab a bunch of jackhammers (i know you have that cert) and fill it up. Not that hard.

i DONT have ha. and lonehunter. i have a book that shows the threshold value for each armor and vechical the amount of damage each wepon does from the start of the game. the lib and skyguard isnt in it, but it has everything from the launch of the game. it has the lashers original damage value. u can buy the book at eb games for 20 bucks

I've been using a Phoenix since BR7.

Some guy in one of my squads the other day told me it sucks, and it takes 12 Phoenix missiles to kill a max. Test that out and make sure I'm right please.

It hits harder than the Striker and it takes 4 Strikers for a fully healthy MAX other than NC which take 5 with the shield. Your answer is either 3 or 4 Phoenix's.

Sorry for the delay guys, I had an Alliance meeting, some other Alliance things, I just didn't have time to do any real testing. I did find out one thing that most of you probably know, 2 Bolt driver shots will kill any foot soldier (not including MAXs). Also, if you see a Jackhammer, run the fuck away. It's secondary fire mode will kill any reinforced exo, with full health and armor, within 5 meters. Anyway the servers are goin down in a hour 1/2 and I have things to do. I'll try to test some before the downtime but we'll see.

I just wanted to dispel the notion that you need 4 strikers to kill a MAX. Actually since 3 strikers strips all the armor off a MAX only leaving his health bar, you can switch to any other type of weapon for a quick kill instead of wasting a striker shot and having to wait for the reload timer.

If you however want to waste a striker shot and wait for the reload then yes, the striker does take 4 to kill a fresh MAX. However, when I had the AV cert I noticed that I could kill a MAX in 3 shots the vast majority of the time, simply because MAXs cant usually ever get to the battle not having taken any damage

It's not dispelling a notion. It does take 4 Strikers to kill a MAX, unless they've taken previous damage. Of course you can use a different weapon to finish them off, but couldn't you do that with any weapons argument? You don't hear how many Lasher shots it takes to destroy a MAX and have somebody say "Well, actually it's only 24 shots to remove the armor and then you can finish them off with something else." That becomes a different argument altogether. I could fire 1 Repeater round into a MAX and then fire 4 Strikers at it, killing it. Does that mean it only takes 1 Repeater shot to kill a MAX?

I've got a question for you to figure out, Lonehunter...how many vehicles would have to drop on an AMS from a Gal to kill it? You'd be surprised how often this has actually come up.

Madcow: the reason the distinction is important is to show that:

A) The striker is a much quicker killer than people like to admit by using this method. In practice you basically can drop MAXs with 1 clip most of the time and I find it extremely annoying when people just cant admit it
B) Why be a dumbass and wait for a long reload wasting ammo from limited pack space when you dont have to?

The reason no one cares how many shots it takes a lasher to kill a MAX with is that it doesnt lock, have ammo that takes up your whole inventory, and a superlong reload timer. Conservation of ammo and not wasting shots when using AV actually matters because of the limited pack space

I hit the 'R' as soon as the 3rd rocket has left the Striker. More often than not I'm using the Striker in open areas against MAXs where there is some distance between us (seems a wee bit safer that way). As I have to leave the Striker out in order to retain lock anyhow, my 3rd rocket is normally hitting as the reload is completing. So I fire one more. Far easier than closing the distance on an anti infantry MAX to try and beat him up with a Cycler. Plus my standard Striker loadout has 15 shots. I don't bother with much conservation.
