Is it possible to delete something and then empty your recycle bin and then recall them or are they acctualy gone for ever? Someone told me you could. Its really important that I get this file back its a video of a friend who died a few years back.

Look for a software product called SCAVENGER I believe it may be freeware.
It will recover stuff even after it is deleted. the less you save until you restore the more chance you have of getting your files. On a system like this, the files aren't really gone, they just have a special character (usually a ?) in front of them and the system knows that is free space if it needs it. Otto
