The recently announced balancing changes seem a little too good, the underground continents look fabulous, if everything continues this way... I dare to say that PlanetSide may outsell some other leading MMOs.

I find it very strange that they won't release any sales figures other than giving nebulous remarks about the sales of PS.......and yeah I wonder how many people have come and gone because the Devs haven't really done anything to improve the gameplay so far. Unless you call continuing the change the weapons balance doing something

i think the only reason there doing the balance patch is to get back the people they lost cause they thought that the oppising empire had better wepons.*though, when they introuduce the balance patch the nc and vs numbers will drop becuse it gives all the buffs 2 the tr and most of the nerfs to the vs. the tr will have the best tank weponwise and the best heavy assult i think since they are increasing the RoF on the mcg.

I thought about possibly considering coming back after reading the changes. Then I looked at what they are doing to the striker and passed on it. I think they went the wrong way about changing it. The trick with it, since the lock on warning, has always been maintaining the lock for the missiles to hit. Now they only made that problem worse by requiring to get more missiles to hit.
Then there is the question of whether or not a gap in the lock will cause missiles to dumbfire. If so the striker is about worthless because very very few locks are maintained the entire time. Now consider that tanks are getting more armor, so they will take many more missiles to kill. Planes have to be closer to hit and you can't sneak up on them anymore. The only air threat TR has now is MAX, the striker will be next to useless with the range, damage and lock on warning. Enemy max's will get a break finaly, but they also now have upgraded shields and better turning... so they will take even more missiles in the one case and be harder to maintain lock in the other. Consider the number of weapons designed to kill armor/vehicles/air and consider the number that work on grunts. Now weaken the most effective armor/vehicle/air weapon for an empire and see what happens to that empire. I think the TR will seriously be crippled by this patch, atleast as far as grunts are concerned. The people that enjoy vehicles/planes will have it alot better off, but they are fewer then the number that play grunts really. Maybe I'm wrong though. At this point though I don't trust the dev's enough to start playing again. Maybe in 6 mo's a year they will have it worked out. If enough people are playing then maybe I'll come back then. |

On the subject at hand at least the dev's are sorting out platoons and outfit bases now there sweet
