HART Idea.

I think we should do away with the HART.

I've thought about it, and it sounds awesome to me, so I asked a friend and he said it was a good idea too. So I'm sharing with you.

By getting rid of the HART, you create a demand for transportation. In doing this gal/sunderer pilots wouldn't be overlooked, and unappreciated as much as they are now. It would actually serve a purpose, and give the Gal/Sunderer pilots a since of achievement also.

It would also create more teamwork. With people actually needing a ride from place to place, people would have to work with each other to be effective in the transportation of troops.

Think how epic the battles would be over non-homeland continents. Yes, driving through a continent would suck, but It would make taking them harder and more realistic. The need for the support roles would greatly increase and be necessary and more appreciated as well. You would have to have more AMS's and medics. The advanced medic would be awesome to cert in then. Cause if you died on a continent with no spawn points you would have to spawn at the sanc. and now there isnt a HART so you would have to find another gal. Your saying,"Well that sucks." Yeah, it should, cause you just died. That would also put more of a value on your health and armor (life) therefore putting emphasis on the importance of the support roles that are overlooked as they are now.

Just wanted to see what you guys thought about it. By no means do I think this will or should happen, just an idea.

I agree with Aen on this one, all the HART does is devalue transportation certs and make the game less tactical and more of a zergfest.

I also agree with Aen it would be very cool, but what about people who spend all there certs on weapons and have no transport or are in the middle of trading certs for another vehicle are left without transportation. It would be very cool and realistic but we have to have some kind of transport mabye something more sophisticated and time consuming then the hart. For example: All the rumors about the orbital stations. What if a Hart like transport would take you to the orbital platform and from there you walk to a docking station and the Hart craft would only transport to one continent at a time. So lets say you wanna go to Ishundar but the hart will have to go back and forth for 4 more conts before it gets to your "ishundar docking stations" and could take up to 20 minutes. So in lame terms you have to check your map to see how far the hart is from making stops to the cont you want to go.

Do you get it? Im not sure i do but i hope u do. *brain explodes*

I actually like the idea, it makes sense. I'm a Hardcore Gal pilot, I used to be hardcore transport driver (where I would have all 3 transport cert) But I hardly use them now, there was never the need to use them. So I did away the Sunderer and the Deliverer but kept the Galaxy, but today, I did away the Galaxy... why? The HART is there when you need it, why waste 3 certs points on a cert you hardly use...

And the orbital station idea works too. I understand it completely.

I'm all up for it!

But maybe you can get this special HART, that will only transfer you to home continents.

Will encourage people to defend home continents.

And while we are at it, make locked continents so the lock cant be unlocked (no soldier of a diffrent faction other then the locking one) for a period of time.

Note to self- post this in in OF, because getting flamed is fun .

I must admit the 1 Min HART has already changed the way I think about fighting. If I'm fighting a loosing battle and I keep dying I would stick it out b/c I didn't want to wait 10 minutes (knowing my luck) for the next HART. But NOW! If a battle isn't going my way, /recall and hop the next 1min HART to another Cont. The devs. just helped defense last balance patch, now they hurt it. Sometimes I wonder if they have a master plan?

Well I can see doing away with the HART as fostering teamwork. The downside is I log on and the outfit squad is of on searhus or something, flew a Galaxy there and here I am all by myself, I'm not the outfits Gal pilot so I get to either drive to searhus from the vanu sanc or wait for us to win/lose the battle and have everyone recall.

The HART allows squads and outfits to stay together as we rarely log on at the same time.

Just my thoughts on it.

y does it rock? i tired of seeing all the n00bs wait 10mins (1min is a bug, from beta that will most likely be reset) for the HART. INSTANT ACTION WORKS!!!!!!!!!! And that guy over there screaming for squadmates........ yeah that IS his gal parked behind him. try doing someting useful and SQUAD up. The era of the HART has come to a close.

/edit/ just a quick thought. y not make instant action spawn you near your squad/outfit only (assuming your in one). that can get you even closer than the HART can (into SOIs).

here is another post i made in a different thread. i think this action would justify canning the HART

lets say that the only base you could spawn at (from sanc) was the one closest to a sanc link or home cont. this would make the gal cert worth something again (which shouldnt be too hard considering the shield module). i dunno just an idea. i think it would promote squadding up (actually working with the squad i mean, god i hate n00bs).

maybe i should make this a new post.

I totally agree, and it's a valid point.

This is what I was talking about when I said it would suck to have to fly through a continent. There would definately have to be away around that if you had an outfit and the majority of them were somewhere else. That would also give another reason to join an outfit.

Thx for all the posts, cept you f00s @ the beginning, i know if they took away the HART it would totally mess your follow the zerg tactic up.
