What's happened to the galaxy?

OK i just played for a couple hours, but i didn't see any Galaxys at all and i have seen very few Galaxys the past times i've played, so whats happened to the Galaxy?

Between the HART and instant-action, the Galaxy is a 3-point waste that's usually harder to get than a Flail. Owning a Dropship Center is nice, but there's only one per continent. Also, the flying bus is a neon sign that says "Reaver pilots plz shoot your rocket pods at us thanx". Who could resist killing a whole Galaxy full of people? Granted, it has a lot of armor and the shields on it are proportionately huge, but only if you control an Amp Station. Also, finding a place to land the Galaxy is a pain, because you might find yourself flying around upside-down or crashing into trees or some other mischance. I always wanted big landing pads for Galaxies to stage on. It's hard enough to get 10 people organized, the terrain shouldn't be a huge factor. If you could 'just land anywhere', hospitals wouldn't have helipads.

Some people swear by the ability of the Galaxy to hot-drop a squad. I agree that it's a great tactic, but I have often seen hot-dropped squads turned into blood pudding by a defending force that's very familiar with what to do if they see a Galaxy fly overhead.

God bless you, Galaxy pilots. You've sacrificed personal power for the good of your empire. Now let's hope the devs give you something to honor your loyalty and devotion. Galaxy bundled with Lodestar would be perfect, if you ask me.

Well, if you have the Lodestar, why would you want the Galaxy? Unless I'm missing some super difference like the Lodestar not having as many infantry spots or something? Did they say how large the vehicle space was going to be on the Lode?

Yah, it seems almost certain that the Galaxy will remain the biggest troop transport while Lodestar will move a single large vehicle with far fewer infantry seats. Just speculation though.
