New PS Jargon Translation Guide

The following PS Jargon to Standard American English translation guide is here to help you understand various posts you may read about Planetside. It has been noted that much mis-understanding has occured through the use of Jargon and therefore a set of standard definitions should be created for everyone's benefit and use.


Nerf the (Insert opposing empire's weapon/vehicle hear). Translation: 1. I'm too stupid to realize that my run up, shoot and kill tactics will not work and am too lazy to learn another tactic. 2. I want an unfair advantage.

Buff the (Insert weapon/vehicle of choice). Translation: 1. I'm too stupid and lazy to learn how to use a weapon/vehicle effectively. 2. I want an unfair advantage.

You n00bz. Translation: Anyone that disagree's with me.

I'm sick of the Zerg (receiving end). Translation: I or our CR5's are too dumb to coordinate an effective defense or procure the use of tactics.

I'm sick of the Zerg (giving end). Translation: I or our CR5's are too dumb to coordinate and effective attack or procure the use of tactics.

This game sux. Translation: I suck at playing this game and too lazy to learn how to play well.

SOE sux. Translation: 1. I'm a Bill Gate's groupie. 2. I work for a competing company and love this game.

Core Combat sux. Translation: See translation "SOE sux", plus I'm happy to see a roll out by SOE not perform to standards, unlike our own products which never perform well.

Player (insert character name) cheats. Translation: He/She is a better player than me and I don't want him/her playing around me.

Fix the Grief system. Translation: I'm not a careful and/or a stupid player and shoot a lot of friendlies. Nor do I care if I shoot friendlies, I just don't want any repurcussions.

Grief system is fine. Translation: I don't shoot friendlies often and am a careful player.

This (insert word) sux. Translation: I'm miserable and I want to see everyting and everybody else more miserable than I am.

Hey Spork or Sporkfire. Translation: Dev whipping boy for players who have no life.

wtf. Translation: I'm too stupid to make an intelligent sentence and/or convey a thought appropiately. I also don't understand english and use a lot of grunts and moans to speak.

stfu. Translation: See "wtf"

Chucklenuts: Anyone who blows a generator after the tubes are down.

Gimp: Anyone who destroys friendly modules or TKs to get their gear.

Surge Monkey: Anyone who uses Surge in combination with Heavy Assault. Especially NC.

Sniper-tank: The MagRider, my nemesis. I always bitch about it.

AT: Ancient Tech

NC: Terrorists

VS: Terrorists

TR: Brave Heroes, massively overpowered empire assets, including peerless AI MAX, Ultra-devastating AV missile system, and sarcastic personnel.
