Autodrive Bug

Anyone else get the bug where when you get a vehicle - air or land - and when it comes off the pad the autodrive fails to shut off? I've had it hit me at least 4 or 5 times in the past few months - normally just after a patch.

Any ideas on a possible cause or fix?

Not at all.
Happens on continents or Sanct. I've never experienced any lag during this time whatsoever. The only way I can exit the vehicle is to apply the e-brake (space bar) and ALT+G out of the craft. It's pretty damned annoying considering I do Spec Ops and need my ride.

This is very odd - never happened to me before but I can see where it would be a pain in the ass

It happened to me once. I was in VR training and I drove a prowler right into the water. It just wouldn't respond at all.

this problem could be caused if you have a misaligned joystick attached to your computer. I had a similar problem until i disconnected the joystick.

Yeah unplug your joystick. Mine caused all sorts of problems. Now I just plug it in when I'm gonna play BF1942 which is pretty rare lately.

BF1942 doesn't pick up my fucking controller, so I have to fly everything with a fucking keyboard and mouse, which is hell, try flying the helis!

Never happened to me. I always hold down Space bar right off the bat. Allow people a chance to hop in quickly so's I can take off quickly.

I had a problem once where I lagged out upon leaving the vehicle bay of a tech plant and when the lag stopped, my Mag was stuck in place. When I tried to get out it told me I had to wait for the auto drive to stop. The only way I could get it fixed was by hitting Alt+F4 and waiting for my char to drop from the game before logging back in. Don't know if that's what you're talking about or not, but that's the only auto drive bug I've encountered (at least after they fixed the flipping vehicles at Dropship Centers, man that was funny).
