Car Shopping, need opinions

Ok, I'm probably going to be purchasing a new car within the year and I'm not sure which to choose from. I have narrowed it down to two choices, both around the $30k range.

Choice 1: Mitsubishi Endeavor XLS
Reason: Going to be starting a family soon and this would help out as far as long road trips to Wisconsin from New York. Also, gives me room to haul anything large that we may need.

Choice 2: Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Comp G package
Reason: Sure, starting a family soon, but the baby isn't going to be all that big in the first place. Plus, it gives me my final chance to own a really nice performance car.

Your thoughts, opinions and criticism is welcomed.

If your gonna get the Pontiac then get the GTO.

But if your gonna spend 28 large then get a Mitsu Evo.

I don't even know how much Pontiac is going to want for the GTO. If it's only 2k more for it, I'd rather get the GTO with the Supercharged V8.

Go with the Mits, you'll get 150,000 more miles, and you won't have to fix it every 4 months after 15,000 miles. Pontiacs are all domestic pieces of shit. For the money, I'd look at an accord if I were you, perfect mix of practicality and sportyness and pretty much the most reliable car out now.

One problem Nav, I can't fit inside an Accord. 6'5" frame doesn't do Japanese cars. The Endeavor, however, fits me perfectly.

Ok... I'd go with the mitsubishi... but in the 30k range you might want to check out the Tiburon... great sporty car... lot's of room and you won't regret it.

But if you want one of those two... get the mitsu.

You been in the '04 models? Pretty roomy, much bigger than the 2002 body style, just something to check out. (You sure you're not thinking of a Honda Civic? They're fucking tiny, my father in law is 6-2/3 ish and he sits in an Accord with no problem at all ) I'm not sure your price range, but the Honda Pilot is huge, has a great engine, and is made in America, you'll pay sticker most likely, but you're not getting the domestic markup, just paying for the car. If you want something smaller, my Dad's got a CRV that he loves, and it's pretty damn cool.

coupe 2 door - 4 door is bigger, but I like the coupe (kids can crawl behind the seats, that's why God made them small)

Last year's pilot-

CRV

edit - Mitsubishi's are Japanese Sent

Upon doing a bit of research, the endeavor is the competitor of the Pilot. Pretty much the same vehicle, but as a rabid honda fan, I'd pick the Honda over the Mitsubishi, just because, although I've seen both companies produce cars with 200,000 miles on them, and a honda with 425,000 miles.

I've heard the endevor is quite nice, We have a 2002 Mitsu Montero and it has a decent package with moonroof, rear seats and nice audio, it was 30k-32k. We also had a 1990 Montero and we drove that thing for 13 years, it was going to become mine but a cylinder cracked it had 200k somthing miles i think, i'll have to ask my dad if he remembers.

Get the pilot instead, there was just a crash deal on dateline the other night and the Pilot ranked #1 in low speed crashes (backing into poles etc) I think the mitsu was last

one question- cityscape or mountinous?

I can't really give good ideas for something just on flat strait streets, but if your asking for the back country, up a hill, and twists and turns.....hi.
