7 Day Trial Curse or Blessing?

Ok here is a topic that i havent seen on the forms in a while, as most people know that Planetside offers a 7 day trial to the mayhem and carnege that we have come to love.

Is this 7 day trial really helping planetside in the long run? Take for example a person could keep getting 7 day trial keys and never buy the game, so in that planetside loses money and has to waste bandwidth on that person for free.

But also you have to look at the flip side if planetside gets rid of the 7 day trial then people will not experence it and then go buy the game. Also without the 7 day trial SOE does not get as high of ratings. Finaly without the trial people who have bought the game might see a huge population drop in the game and get bored of looking for hot spots and cancel there subcription.

To fix this little problem so you win both ways:

1. Make the 7 day trial only useable in fixed dates
2. Make the 7 day trial limited in gameplay (not sure on that one but its an idea)
3. Make the 7 day trial shorter to a 48hr trial (in this people will get angry at having to start a new char every 48hr's)

Well people just give some feedback on this and we will see where we turn out.

I think the 7 day free trial is fine the way it is. i am on one right now after leaving planetside for like 4 months and now i am 90% sure that im going to buy another month and keep playing.

the making the 7 day into a 2 day trail wont work, cuz you can just put the trail codes into one another, ive already done that, i had 2 trial keys (one from the purchased game, and one from PS site) and i know it can be done

Well I did buy this game after playing the 7 day trial. So it has to be doing some good.

They have to get more people in this game, especially with the holidays coming up. Sure it can be abused, but not that far. Eventually hopefully someone who takes all that time to play will be hooked for good. The server populations seem to be dropping all the time.

The only downside to the trials is all the dishonest people who already play the game regularly who create a character on a realm and purposely team-kill. I have only heard of people doing that, I have never seen it first hand myself.
