I think there are two possible reasons
A: She just needed someone to go to the dance with. Sorry to break your heart, but she isn't interested in you at the moment.

B: You were too date-like. Get a bunch of her friends and yours and just go see a movie or something with everyone together.

Or you could just find a girl who swallows and marry her. That's the advice my bf's friend gave him. I never said I was simple. I agree that women are too complicated! I understand myself well enough and many consider me already marriage material! =p
