And, are you ABSOLOUTLY FUCKING SURE you have an AGP port?
I bought an AGP card, then found out that I DONT FUCKING HAVE ONE, AS FUCKING EMACHINES SUCKS MY FUCKING COCK. Im just utterly pissed off that I cant make this a decent machine because of the OEM's lack of cool.

you need to open it up and see, it will be near the bottom of the CPU sink, it will look different from the others (always on top of the "stack"), and it will be set off to the right a bit more

For one it can depend on what of your current comp you can take out. Is the proccessore removable 8) you can take hardrives, try the new vid card and then get one later if its not good enough. Ill make one on a low end 800mhz bus. This is all form newegg.com this is nowhere near as cheap as you can get it.
800mhz Processors 2.4 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...log=343&depa=1 164$ 800mhz Motherboards Abit PT800 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...log=280&depa=1 65.99 Memory 333mhz 1 gig http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...log=147&depa=1 211$ 441$(motherboard, ram, new 800mhz processor) Just hook up your harddrive and vid card or whatever and you have a new comp. You can do this alot cheaper than this too. If you just get teh motherboard and hte ram and you can swap your processor in it you may be set. (277$ Motherboard, ram) The motherboard is the main thing you need to get and is nice adn cheap 8) It wont support 2100 ram though. If your old processor isnt removable you can get another one for 66 dollars instead of the 800mhz one above http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...log=343&depa=1 That puts you at 343$ (Motherboard, ram, new 2.2celron) This is unless theres soemthing about an e-machine that wont let you put it in the case? And the difference between the 2.4 and higher 800mhz processors isnt much so here are some more for almost the same price. 2.6 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...log=343&depa=1 174$ lol look at the price rise ^^ 2.8 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...log=343&depa=1 214$ 3.0 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...log=343&depa=1 300$ this is the cutoff probly on neweggs site for what your going to spend so if you are getting a new processor spend the extra 40 dollars on the 2.8 Last edited by Ait'al; 2004-01-07 at 12:56 AM. |

That mobo might not fit the emachines case, some major comp manufacturers have their own standards slightly different from atx, and they have special oem mobos made, then make their own cases, you should check just to be safe.

The PT800 sucks! the 865 or 875 are much better dual channel chipsets, and the new single channel p4 chipset is much better than its competors (the 865 and 875 just pwn all p4 systems right now)

what is the cause of this? im guessing not enough ram? or is it my processor... and i already have an intel 2.2 celron processor... |

ok u need more ram. but the computers aitial is spitting out are wayy too expensive. u can do something that will run PS on much less.
[EDIT] got it AMD Athlon XP 2500+-$90 BIOSTAR nForce2 400 BIOSTAR nForce2 400-$53 Geil Ultra Series 256MB DDR PC-3200X2-45x2 Total-$196 for CPU memory and motherboard. i can add in vid card and HD if u want.

You just want him to get an AMD 8\
Mine is better and i was using higher end ram as an example so yea its more expensive. Dont try to pull cheap crap like that And he doesnt really need a new Procesor i was just offering the price of upgrading to 800mhz.(unless his processor doesnt come off) IN which case another one is only 62$ 400/533/800mhz MoBo ABIT 865PE http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...log=280&depa=1 86.99 Corsair 1gig (2x512) http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...log=147&depa=1 151$ hes better off not buying 4 chips and get something he can realy upgrade later. 238$ If you cant transfer your procesor then its 300 on the dot for another celron 2.2. My system can be easily upgraded to a pentium 3.2 4gigs etc. He has more options with intel. And it is easier for him to upgrade the ram this way, he wont have to replace any thing to get more. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...log=343&depa=1 62$ 2.2 celron If you want to get a beter celron http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...log=343&depa=1 82$ 2.5 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...log=343&depa=1 90$ 2.6 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...log=343&depa=1 107$ 2.7 http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...log=343&depa=1 126$ 2.8 And i think your system cost 233$ not 196$? he needs a gig and he can get it for 41$ a chip at newegg.com. Even at 41 chip, with 1 gig it will cost 307$. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...log=147&depa=1 41$ no shipping. Last edited by Ait'al; 2004-01-11 at 05:28 AM. |
