30 Day XP Trial Question

Hey,

If I sign up for that 30 day free trial from gamespot, can I download the game from some different mirrors and just use the code that I should get in the email? Or do I have to download from gamespy? If I can use some other mirrors, anyone have some good ones to link me to?

Sorry but i also have a question about the trial. Im returning to PS tomorrow with my new PC but have no money.So my question is, will i be able to use this free trial with my current account so i can use my old characters?

There are no other mirrors. When you sign up on gamespot it will install a tiny p2p app that will download from many sources. It is easily uninstalled after that. No spyware or bloatware stuff common in most other similar systems.

Waiting half an hour for the download to begin and then not getting full download speed is not what I would call nice.

only reason I ask is because the gamespot thing only downloads at like 40kb/sec.. i have a 112kb connection, and usually get it up to at least 80kb/sec. Also, does my trial begin from when I get the email, or when I enter the account code?
