The higher the rockwell hardness, the more brittle it is. PERIOD. Find a sword over $3000, and I'll guarantee it's been folded by a blacksmith, is UNHARDEND, and would shatter a 440stainless blade on impact. He's right about keeping an edge though. A sword made from something like CPM9V would stay sharp for damn near forever. |

well, sasquatch never said it was good for a sword, and if he did, i'd say he's ... "dull." har har. he just says it's harder than 420 (no kidding).
i agree that 440 is too brittle for a sword you intend to fight with, but i think it's a good choice for wall decor for its resistant properties. if you're looking for a defensive weapon, always remember that lead > steel

Yeah, who is actually going to fight with a sword these days? And a $3000 sword would be sweet as fuck, I would probably buy computer stuff instead if I had that kind of money to throw around. All I need is a sword that looks sweet, and doesn't break when you pick it up. This one qualifies
