Look at it this way. Case studies of school shooting sprees usually find that most of these fuckface kids give warnings. They get all "RPG-FPS" going around saying "Behold, Eldork the Gagnarth will slay you!" and then they start playing Rambo in the hallways. The next day, you've got fifty dead kids in the hallway.

Look at it another way. You could laugh like the rest of the braindead morons in THIS thread, and joke about it with the rest of the retread retards in THIS thread. And I won't shed a tear at your funeral, because you're a qualifier for the Darwin awards.

Or, alternately, you can maybe mention it to someone in a position to do something, like a guidance counselor or a teacher, or a principle, or even a cop. And maybe the kid gets investigated and embarrassed for making stupid statements. Or maybe they find a bookbag full of weapons. Either way, you win. The fucking kid shouldn't be stupid enough to say shit like that. It's about as smart as making bomb jokes in airports or threatening in a downtown-DC bar to sh00t up the Whyte Haus.

Talk to him first, in person, and then depending on his response consiter mentioning something to a conunslor or a parent. But don't freak out over it, jeez.

Do an internet search for school shootings. Read the evidence. Not just some asshole blogger's inter-nut commentary. Most of the times, the punk bitches who go shooting up people leave great indicators that they've got a few screws loose.
