Wierd XP problem, any help?

More of a nuisance than a problem,

I have to hit shut down, or reset twice to get it to respond. Only been doing it for about 3 days. I push start>shutdown It looks like it took the pop up window closes but nothing, I do it again and it shuts down. Any suggestions?

Have you tried waiting untill it does go the first time? It can take a while sometimes I do not know why.

I have waited, infact the other night i thought I shut down and came back to the room and it was still humming away... i'll try that but I don't think the time is a problem.

check your running processes for things that don't belong

I was getting owned by Windows XP the last two weeks. Said "fuck it" this weekend and re-formated. I havn't had any problems since and the performance of Planetside has doubled.
