I dont actually use win 95, or use IE for that matter, however, I have been trying to help an attractive female who is having some trouble. She told me that her IE will get an illegal operation if she tries to start it. I remember encountering the same problem a few years back. Anyone have any solutions aside from upgrading, reformatting or defragmenting? Thanks.

Illegal operations are almost as fun as the Dreaded CRC error. They are so bland and so general, they could mean over 500,000 different things.
Look at the links below, in order to fix some illegal operations problems, you need to uninstall IE and then delete the Cached and history folders to completely clear IE of any backwater. You can also try deleting the contents of the History folder and Temporary internet Files folders. They could contain bad variables. http://groups.google.com/groups?q=il...40comp1&rnum=6 Here is another article talking about illegal operations. http://groups.google.com/groups?q=il...default&rnum=4 I would also suggest uninstalling and re-installing Internet explorer. What version of IE does she have? http://support.microsoft.com/support.../Q174/2/65.asp - for uninstalling IE 4.0
