What is going on with the PvP? I only want to play MMPORGs that have PvP, otherwise it just gets boring as hell.

And $15 is a lot of money to pay. DAOC was $10 a month and people thought that was expensive. They are just slowly jacking up the monthly prices. Figure - if you have PS and CoH that is $338 dollars a year. That is a lot of money. These subscriptions are getting fucking ridiculous - another way of ripping off customers.

I played EVE, in fact still have my account open. All I have tho is a few frigates tho... don't feel like taking the time to work up to a cruiser and whatnot...

The rumor is a villains expansion. I'm a bit wary of it, because everybody will switch to villains if it happens. I hope they go the EQ route and just make a separate server for PVP fans. Of course adding new villainous costume pieces is always cool.

I hold myself to 1 mmorpg at a time and a $2 jump from PS doesn't bother me much. DAOC was only $10 a month but it's an older game and not balanced for PvP in my opinion. I personally am willing to pay a bit more because CoH does not lag *cough*PS*hack*, has beautiful graphics, massive customization, and is not a straight-up level grind (leveling is just a bi-product of having fun doing the missions). Those are my reasons.

Villains is not a rumor, NCSoft has already announced the City of Villains expansion. They will apparently have a demo at E3 of it. I don't remember an MMORPG ever announcing an expansion before the original game was released, it doesn't seem like very good marketing in my opinion.
I'm on Freedom server with my Gravedigger character, will be until I make a decision on whether or not to purchase the game I guess. Should be on tonight trying to get to level 10 or so.

They are putting arena pvp in, in the meantime. Its in the first patch, they said estimated a month after release.

How are you playing?! You have to pre-order to play before it goes on sale this Wednesday down here in New Mexico... and it was $30 to pre-order from EB. You get a pre-order for cheap/free somewhere? Maybe you're just rich.

The EB salesclerk told us it was $30 everywhere to prevent people from using the beta test as a free trial. I hate liars and ignorants. I hope Snope beats his ass.

SWG did that. They announced that they'd have a space expansion coming and its just barely begining beta.

Well, I caved in and pre-ordered it again

Okay, found COH for 35 bucks on Ebay and I caved. Gravedigger is alive on the Freedom server. I created characters on a couple of other servers last night, but was bent that the name I had reserved for the Pinnacle server was taken somehow. Ah well, can't have it all I guess.

I might, but I'll be watching from the sidelines for a while to make sure it's worth it. The thing is, with World of Warcraft and The Matrix Online coming out this year, CoH will have to be exceptionally good if I'm going to subscribe to it, since I want to stick and focus on just one MMORPG. If CoH winds up being above average but not great, I'll hold off until WoW and MxO come out, since I have a more interest in those two games in the first place.
